cami + white tee + denim #inspo

Happy Friday!  I've been under the weather this past week and now that I feel better, a tropical storm is heading our way.  So far we've just been getting a lot of rain.  Other than that it's been deathly hot here, even more than last year, more humidity, which is the reason for the lack of blog posts.  I'm not complaining - I would not trade it for winter/snow, but it's hard when you can barely leave the house wearing anything other than a bathing suit.  Plus, fall is my favourite season, as I mentioned in my last post, and it's a bummer that it's too hot to really start shopping for it.  I'm kind of over summer clothes, although the sales out there are crazy good.  Being sick though the past week, I've been spending a lot of time online shopping and getting inspired again and the piece I keep coming back to is the cami (or slip dress, as discussed in this post), preferably with lace.  I love the many different ways you can wear it - on its own, of course, layered under a cardigan... But my favourite way to layer a (lace) cami is over a white tee, which is about the most layering I will be able to do for the next little while.  (These Free People tees are great for layering and Madewell is having a sale on these.)  I've been going back and forth between the two camis above.  Below are some of my other favourite (mostly lace) camis.

Happy shopping!

{Update: Just came across the amazing cami, above, from ZARA.}

la dolce vita in fringe

camisole: Club Monaco; sweater: Aritzia (similar here and here);
necklace: Free People (sold out, see here for more); hat: Brixton; sunglasses: Prada}

I mean, this scenery is incredible.  Also, these fringe boots.  Another item I scored on sale.  I kept the look simple with a white camisole and cardigan because the weather has been amazing the past few days, but there has been a bit of a breeze, and also because with fringe you could easily fall into costume territory.  I paired them with skinny jeans so they easily tuck into the boot, but they would look amazing with a dress or skirt and would stand out more.  Unfortunately they photographed a bit dark, but there are great pictures of them on my Instagram (see here and here).

So I guess fall is here.  It's been freezing in Toronto the past couple of days.  Luckily I got a head start on my fall shopping (which felt silly a week or so ago).  It's supposed to warm up and I sure hope it does because, even though I did some fall shopping, I am not mentally prepared for this cold weather.  If it was September, sure, but it's only August 15!  I am excited to wear fall clothes, however.  Sweaters, boots, etc.  I am obsessed with this cardigan from Aritzia.  At first I hesitated because of the price (since I have already blown my fall budget), but it's a versatile piece.  I always look at the price of an item and divide it by the amount of times I will wear it and that's the actual cost of the item.  So if I wear this sweater once a week for the next four months, this sweater actually cost me $10.  In that case, this sweater is quite cheap!  The quality, however, is not cheap.  It is 100% wool and is super cozy.  You will not regret buying this sweater.
