orange glow

Happy Thanksgiving!  I don't wear a lot of orange, but what better month is there to wear orange than October?  I was not sure I could pull off this beautiful Marc by Marc Jacobs sweater, but I love wearing brights and wearing it with a denim shirt underneath definitely makes it easier.  It also makes sense to celebrate the holiday with a little 'Canadian Tuxedo' action.  Pairing the look with this military jacket definitely tones the bright orange down.  And because the temp has dropped drastically this week, I'm already throwing on my snow boots.  They're super comfortable and cozy and that's what this weekend was all about.  Besides, you know, family and turkey.

goodbye, spring

I'm so happy I picked up this Anthropologie jacket last fall because it's a great spring jacket too.  It's lightweight and basically goes with everything.  It's the first day of summer today and hopefully that means warmer mornings, but we haven't gotten there yet.  Some mornings this week I have been able to get away without wearing a jacket, but there still has been those days that have a little bit of that spring morning chill.  Earlier this spring I said that I normally don't get to wear spring jackets for very long because in Canada it goes from cold to hot, but this spring has been perfect.

So long, Spring... hello, Summer...(you're my favourite)!

mellow yellow

I finally brought out this beautiful Coach bag.  I've been waiting for warmer weather because I did not want it rubbing against my darker coloured jackets.  Then there was rain.  It was still raining on Friday but I was starting to get impatient since I bought this bag a couple of months ago.  Thankfully I didn't get caught in the rain, but my hair is another story, which is where the hat comes in.  I have naturally wavy hair so when there's a bit of humidity plus dampness in the air, a hat is a must.  Thankfully I love hats and this J.Crew floral one is so pretty.

baseball hat and rain boots

It's still pretty chilly but I'm tired of wearing a toque/beanie.  This floral J.Crew hat is a perfect transition piece.  It also lifts my mood in this gloomy weather.  Although if the temperature drops one more degree, the toque will have to go back on.  I already own a pair of adorable Marc by Marc Jacobs rain boots, but I couldn't resist when I saw these baby blue Hunter boots.  I love the tall version, but I'm petite so they hit my knee, but I managed to track down the short version.  I used to hate when it rained, but once I invested in some rain boots (and a cute Coach umbrella), I now get excited because I get to wear them.  It's a nice change.  Especially when they come in such fun colours.  I know people wear them in the winter but, living in Canada, I'm never giving up my UGG boots.  #sorrynotsorry
