yellow sweatshirt

{ZARA Knit Sweatshirt (sold out online, similar here);
GAP Jeans (similar here and here, high rise style here);
Brixton Alex Hat; Prada Sunglasses}

I love a bright sweater, especially in the winter, and yellow has been growing on me for the past couple of years.  Any pair of jeans would work, but I chose to tone down this bright yellow sweatshirt with greys.

Happy shopping!

color crash course: clover

The first thing I did when I moved to Myrtle Beach was set up my magazine subscriptions: InStyle, Glamour, Marie Claire and Elle.  But I must admit they had been piling up.  Maybe with Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. I feel I get enough inspiration, but I finally decided to go through them.  I was flipping through the October issue of InStyle (I told you they were piling up) and came across one of my favourite sections: Color Crash Course.  I've been inspired so many times to try new colour combinations and, of course, they always work.  I had been thinking of how to style this gorgeous green coat I had just bought, so I was so excited to see the colour featured and decided to pair it with 'steel' head to toe and I love the combo!

So although Instagram is filled with #inspo everywhere, nothing quite beats a good ole fashion magazine.  I won't be letting them pile up again.

falling for . . . grey

{Wilfred Zadkine T-Shirt; jeans: Paige Denim (bought last fall, love these and these);
hat, bracelet: BCBG (in-store); shoes: ZARA; necklace: Juicy Couture; sunglasses: Prada}

Yesterday was extremely hot.  Of course I was wearing pants.  I hardly ever wear pants!  I live for skirts and dresses and on the hottest day this summer (yes, sadly, yesterday was probably the hottest day we have had) and I wore pants.  Black pants.  I'm in fall mode now and it's hard to get me back.  Sorry, Summer, but I'm over you.  Anyway, last week was cool and it was perfect for this cozy grey tee.  I picked up quite a few Wilfred pieces this fall.  They have great basics.  I picked up a similar black one.  Staples you always need in your closet.  They can be worn alone (or perfect for layering underneath a blazer), or worn with a blouse underneath when it really starts to cool down.  I love grey for fall.  It's one of my favourite neutrals because you never look like you're trying too hard with grey. Black (or white) sometimes looks too harsh.  I'm especially a fan of grey on grey.
