I miss my bed

Urban Outfitters Fedora (similar here);

This sweatshirt says it all.  When we took these pictures last week, I was just starting to feel better after finding out I had an ear infection.  Then it got worse.  My daughter and I have been SO sick all week and my hubby was away on business so it's been roughhhh.  I'm pretty sure I have the flu and have had chills all week so sweatshirts have been my BFF.  This Wildfox sweatshirt is one of the most comfortable sweatshirts I own.  It's fleece and oh-so-cozy.  Perfect for when you have the flu.  I'm going back to bed.

Hope everyone is keeping healthy!

color crash course: clover

{Tularosa x Revolve Violet Faux Shag Coat;
jeans: GAP (similar); tee: Wilfred (love this and this one);
boots: MICHAEL Michael Kors (other versions here);
hat: Brixton; sunglasses: Prada}

The first thing I did when I moved to Myrtle Beach was set up my magazine subscriptions: InStyle, Glamour, Marie Claire and Elle.  But I must admit they had been piling up.  Maybe with Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. I feel I get enough inspiration, but I finally decided to go through them.  I was flipping through the October issue of InStyle (I told you they were piling up) and came across one of my favourite sections: Color Crash Course.  I've been inspired so many times to try new colour combinations and, of course, they always work.  I had been thinking of how to style this gorgeous green coat I had just bought, so I was so excited to see the colour featured and decided to pair it with 'steel' head to toe and I love the combo!

{InStyle, October 2015}

So although Instagram is filled with #inspo everywhere, nothing quite beats a good ole fashion magazine.  I won't be letting them pile up again.

new year, new hat

{hat: Brixton; top: ZARA; jeans: J Brand
shoes: MICHAEL Michael Kors (similar here);
sunglasses: Prada}

New year, new hat!  I'm always on the lookout for a new hat.  Most people use jewellery to express their individual style, but I love a good hat.  I went with grey this time because I have black and brown covered and I've been buying quite a bit of grey and love a monochrome look.  I paired this ZARA top (only $25!) with black jeans last time so I switched it up and paired it with white, which I've been loving for the cooler weather (which we've finally been getting again).  Plus, I wore all black over the holidays and I actually felt my mood was different.  Brighter, to me, is always better.
