romping around (again)

{Harry Checked Thermal Jumpsuit: Marc by Marc Jacobs; shoes: Guess;
bracelet: Coach (other colours); sunglasses: Prada; bow ring: H&M (in-store)}

Another day, another (Marc by Marc Jacobs) romper (last seen here styled with wedges).  I was heading to a festival with the kiddies and wanted something comfortable to wear on the rides.  I basically have one week left of wearing rompers and casual clothes.  (Yes, there will be weekends, but going back to work after being off for 17 months, I'll probably be wandering the house like a zombie in my pjs.)  It's crazy that tomorrow is the beginning of the last week of August.  Summer technically isn't over for another few weeks, but come September 1st and most of us are thinking fall.  Kids are going back to school and I'm going back to work.  I'm starting to gather all of the clothes I bought the other weekend (most items are still in the bags because mostly everything I bought was for fall) and trying to decide what will be my 'first day of work' outfit.  Hopefully it won't be deathly hot and I can start wearing my new clothes.  My favourite season is summer, but come September, I'm over it.

go for 'baroque'

{sunglasses: Prada (also here); top: H&M (old); sweater: Marc by Marc Jacobs;
shorts: AG Adriano Goldschmied; shoes: Guess; bracelet: Coach (similar)}

I went shopping with my sister before the Macklemore concert and, although I went into Prada to try on a pair of shoes (I'm obsessed with their black and white shoes for fall), I walked out with a pair of sunglasses (they didn't have the shoes I was looking for).  I've been looking for a new pair of everyday sunglasses and I've seen these 'Baroque' ones online, but thought they would look too big on my face.  I tried them on and, although they are quite big, I fell in love instantly.  But, more importantly, my sister fell in love with them and told me to get them.  So I blame her.  (Well, that's what I told my husband to do.)  I also blame her for making me want one of their mini bags.  (Ok, I have been eyeing them online for a while now.)  They're so perfect for someone 'mini' like me!  At least that's what I keep telling my husband.

red, white & blue

{tee: Zara; pants: GAP; shoes: Guess; necklace: Juicy Couture (old); nails: Essie 'Blanc';
jacket, ring (recent, in-store): H&M; sunglasses (old), bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs}

I'm just going to pretend THAT week didn't happen.  So much for wearing a cute romper on Victoria Day.  I know it's only May, but it's been so humid some days!  Plus, I wore my denim jacket and I was still cold and it was supposed to be the hottest day of the weekend.  Yes, I prefer hot weather, but I'm not going to complain about today's weather.  It was a bit chilly at times, but I don't mind wearing a light jacket and I finally got to wear this cute Zara tee I've had for a while.  See, because this is spring weather.  (Ok, maybe I'm just appreciating today because this past week was freezing.)  Anyway, I decided to pair this super cute tee with my red GAP khakis I love so much.  And since it's Memorial Day weekend, I thought I would show some love to my American friends by adding this blue Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet.  I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, surrounded by friends and family!

p.s. I'm also trying out the white nail polish trend and LOVE it!  It reminds me of when I used to paint my nails with whiteout as a teenager.  Oh, the memories.

florals, polka dots and bows, oh my!

{top: Madewell (also here); jeans, shoes (similar): GAP; blazer: Talula; handbag: RED Valentino;
bracelets: J.Crew (here and similar here); sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old)}

I love mixing florals and stripes (love that this Madewell tee has that combination built in!), so I thought I would try florals and polka dots.  Planning my daughter's 1st birthday party, I've been feeling very girly so I piled on the pink - from this super comfortable blazer to my accessories - and even originally pairing this outfit with pink heels because I'm petite and wearing boyfriend jeans with flats can make me look even shorter.  But running errands in my ripe old age of 33, I can no longer do so in heels.  Oh, to be young again.

polka dot on polka dot

{dress: Topshop; shoes: GAP (sold out online, similar here); sunglasses: Juicy Couture (old);
Classic Q Hillier Mini Hobo Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, but larger version here)}

I guess Mother Nature read my last post because there was a heat wave today!  It's supposed to be a lot cooler again tomorrow so, as I've said before, I'm not getting my hopes up.  But I enjoyed every minute of it today and what better dress to celebrate the heat wave than this adorable Topshop dress, which I saw in Glamour recently.  As someone who is obsessed with polka dots, I had to have it.  The actress modelling it was/is pregnant and it looked super cute on her, so it almost makes me want to get pregnant again just so I can wear it during my pregnancy.  I loved rocking my pregnant belly.  But it's not going to happen...anytime soon.

shades of blue

{chambray shirt: Madewell; jeans: Guess by Marciano (old); shoes: GAP;
sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (similar here); belt: Zara (old);
'sweet' affirmation bracelet: BCBGeneration (also here); nails: Sephora by O.P.I 'Havana Dreams'}

Right when I saw these blue Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses last summer, I instantly fell in love with them.  The only problem is that I have yet to get prescription lenses put in them because I have so many pairs of sunglasses and it costs a small fortune just for one pair, so I don't wear them as often as I'd like.  I can wear them, as long as I'm not driving.  Or needing to see a few feet ahead of me.  But this summer I'll have to change that because I'm obsessing over chambray shirts (especially this Madewell two-tone one) and the whole denim on denim / monochromatic look.
