#OOTD / powder blue

#OOTD / powder blue

Happy Friday!  Today's #OOTD is inspired by something I read in a magazine about blue getting the most likes on Instagram.  I definitely could see that.  Ok, I might not wear everything here together, but I do love a monochrome look so it's possible.  How ethereal does this look?  This See by Chloe top is a little more than I would spend on a top, but it's so gorgeous and flowy and everything I look for in a top for spring/summer.

head-to-toe marc

sunglasses (old), head wrap: Marc by Marc Jacobs; t-shirt: TNA (old)}

The last few days have been extremely humid.  I've been spending my days either by my aunt's pool, or at the mall.  (Living the life on maternity leave!)  Man, there are amazing deals out there right now.  I was so disappointed because I found a Marc by Marc Jacobs dress at Holt Renfrew for less than $200 (originally over $400), but it just didn't fit right.  That never happens with MBMJ.  I even tried going up a size.  So I ended up only walking away with a pair of shoes (a great pair of BCBG gladiator sandals I've been eyeing that just happened to go on sale).  But I realized how much I love shopping in person.  Basically, everything you see here I bought online (except for the tee and sunglasses), including this super cute polka dot denim skirt I just bought recently, and basically everything is Marc by Marc Jacobs.  Some days you just want to wear Marc from head to toe.

hearts

{shorts: AG Adriano Goldschmied (also here); chambray shirt: Madewell; shoes: J.Crew;
necklace: Guess; bracelets: H&M (in-store, recent); sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs}

Okay, I'm really getting the hang of this wearing shorts business, but making sure I'm kept warm (because it's not that hot out) by pairing them with sweaters or, today, this Madewell chambray shirt (that I'm obsessed with btw).  This weekend is a long weekend and it's supposed to be beautiful out, so this will pretty much be my go-to outfit.

Happy Victoria Day (i.e., May 2-4) weekend my fellow Canadians!

blue orchid

{jeans: J Brand (also here); tee: Maison Scotch; necklace: Guess (bought in store);
shoes: Zara; sunglasses, bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs; Minnie ears: Disney Store}

It was my daughter's 1st birthday party on Sunday and at first I thought about wearing pink, since that was the theme, but I decided she should be the only one in pink, so I went the complete opposite and wore blue.  (I did steal her Minnie Mouse ears though.  She wasn't too crazy about wearing them anyway.)  I've been eyeing these orchid print J Brand jeans for a while now.  The print is so beautiful.  They fit really great and are super comfortable.  Since it was a casual birthday party, I dressed down the pants with a simple tee and threw on my blue Marc by Marc Jacobs accessories.  Again, I was having a blue moment.

shades of blue

{chambray shirt: Madewell; jeans: Guess by Marciano (old); shoes: GAP;
sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (similar here); belt: Zara (old);
'sweet' affirmation bracelet: BCBGeneration (also here); nails: Sephora by O.P.I 'Havana Dreams'}

Right when I saw these blue Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses last summer, I instantly fell in love with them.  The only problem is that I have yet to get prescription lenses put in them because I have so many pairs of sunglasses and it costs a small fortune just for one pair, so I don't wear them as often as I'd like.  I can wear them, as long as I'm not driving.  Or needing to see a few feet ahead of me.  But this summer I'll have to change that because I'm obsessing over chambray shirts (especially this Madewell two-tone one) and the whole denim on denim / monochromatic look.
