#OOTD / winter white

#OOTD / winter white

I'm a day late posting my #OOTD (sorry!).  We loved Greenville so much we stayed longer than we planned.  Today's #OOTD is one of my favourites.  I love an all white outfit for fall/winter.  I'm obsessing over this Madewell Fringe Cardigan Sweater, which sadly sold out in my size as I was browsing (currently 25% off with code THATSALE).  Shopbop is having a 'Buy More, Save More' sale with code GOBIG16, which ends Monday.  I love these J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans.  They're the perfect pair of white jeans for sneakers, booties and over-the-knee boots.  I also love these Rachel Comey Mars Sherpa Booties.  The lining will keep those toes extra toasty.  This Free People Essential Backpack is not on sale, but it's at a great price of $50.  Just add a white tee to this look and your 'winter white' outfit is complete!

#OOTD / ruffle sleeve sweater

ruffle sleeve sweater #outfit #inspo

Happy Friday!  The holidays are coming up (starting with Thanksgiving here in the States next week) and last week I posted a full-on velvet outfit (see post here) because I'm obsessed with velvet at the moment and I'm not sure anything screams holidays more than velvet (okay, maybe sequins), but if you're looking for a more low-key look, jeans are always a 'do' for the holidays IMO.  My tip is to keep them clean for the holidays (i.e., no rips).  These 7 For All Mankind The High Waist Skinny Jeans have a high waist and stretch, which is a must for the holidays because food.  This Endless Rose Ruffle Sleeve Sweater is the perfect topper because it's cozy, but the ruffle sleeves add a special touch.  With a simple outfit I like to add a pop of colour (my preference being pink, always).  This J.Crew Plaid Scarf is so pretty and will also keep you warm.  I just purchased these Jeffrey Campbell Vionnet Flats and they are SO soft and perfect for holiday shopping.

#OOTD / velvet crush

#OOTD / velvet crush

'I would drape myself in velvet if it were socially acceptable.'  -George Costanza

Same, George, same.  There are SO many gorgeous velvet pieces out there, it's hard to choose just one!  I LOVE this Free People Velvet Mini (it comes in 3 other colours).  If you're not quite wanting to drape yourself in velvet like George and I, you can stick to an accessory: a velvet choker (ASOS has many to choose from), a velvet handbag (this Rebecca Minkoff Love Quilted Velvet Crossbody Bag is stunning), or velvet booties (how gorgeous are these Aquazzura Velvet Ankle Boots?  These L.K. Bennett Pellino Floral Booties are also gorgeous and more budget-friendly.)

#OOTD / fall uniform: slouchy sweater, high-low hem jeans & booties

#OOTD / fall uniform

Happy Friday!  It's sweater weather today and I could not be more excited!  I'll probably have to take the sweater off later in the day, but this morning is cool and I can actually wear a sweater and a pair of jeans.  Today's #OOTD sums up my fall uniform: slouchy sweaters, cropped jeans (I'm a huge fan of the high-low hem!) and booties.  I'm also a big fan of bright colours, especially red, for A/W and this Free People All Mine Sweater looks SO cozy.  (It comes in a bunch of colours if you're not a fan of red.)  I'm obsessing over these Citizens of Humanity Liya Hi-Lo Hem Jeans.  Last, but not least, a pair of booties to complete the outfit.  These Steve Madden Pistol Booties are currently part of the Nordstrom sale that's happening until November 13!

#OOTD / cold shoulder sweater

#OOTD / cold shoulder

Happy Friday!  Part of my morning routine is checking out Shopbop's new items.  There is always something new.  I 'heart' my favourites, but sometimes there is that item that is love at first sight and I add it to cart immediately.  That's how I felt as soon as I saw this J.O.A. Cold Shoulder Sweater.  I had a feeling it would sell out quickly, but it was so hot here it seemed silly to buy a turtleneck sweater, even with the cold shoulder, so I was going to keep an eye on my cart (Shopbop also emails you if your 'hearts' are low in stock) and if it showed there were only a few left then I would purchase it anyway.  Then a few days later Shopbop had their big 'Event of the Season' and I was excited that I would get this sweater for 25% off (already a steal at $75 IMO), but knew I had to jump on it.  But I was stuck in a car with a crappy signal and sure enough it sold out.  I searched everywhere for this sweater but could not find it.  (This Pam & Gela Cold Shoulder Turtleneck was going to replace my need for this sweater, but I thought I would be patient and wait.  Maybe someone would return an XS.)

Yesterday I did what I usually do, checked Shopbop's new items, and there it was.  This J.O.A. Cold Shoulder Sweater, stocked in every size.  I was browsing other items and probably not even half an hour later, I noticed there was only one left in my size.  I panicked, but quickly checked out.  It's always funny to me when a piece of clothing affects me this way.  There are SO many cold shoulder sweaters out there right now, but for some reason I had to have this one.  I think it's a combination of the colour (it's also avail in black here, but I wanted the ivory), shape and thickness.  I cannot wait to wear it, especially since it's starting to get cool here in the evenings.  I picture the sweater with a pair of cropped jeans and these adorable Jeffrey Campbell Vionnet Flats.  I love the colour of this Marc Jacobs Gotham Small Bauletto Satchel.  Wine and pink are one of my favourite colour combos for fall.

blush paisley printed tunic

I immediately fell in love with the colour of this Free People tunic (and clearly so did everyone else because it was sold out by the time I received it in the mail.  Size small currently back in stock!).  It comes in navy now (tip: navy looks great on brunettes!)  Because it's still warm here, I paired this blush paisley printed tunic with pink Jeffrey Campbell booties, but I'm excited to wear it with my Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots once it starts to cool down.  I added a grey hat because I love pairing pink with grey, it's probably one of my favourite colour combos for fall.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

#OOTD / cozy knit pullover

fall feelings // #OOTD #boho #fall #fashion #fblogger

Happy Friday!  The mornings and evenings have been a bit cooler (well, yesterday was humid but whatever) and I'm SO looking forward to wearing cozy sweaters and booties.  Even if I have to change into a tank and cutoffs by 10 am.  Mes Demoiselles always has amazing fall pieces and this Mixed Knit Pullover (also avail here and cardigan version here) is everything I look for in a fall sweater.  It's cozy, slouchy and textured.  I'm still eyeing these 3x1 crop fringe jeans, but I know I'm probably too petite for them.  I have always leaned toward black booties for fall, but for the past few years have leaned toward lighter tones.  I find it's easier to transition your summer clothes into fall than with black.  (Unless you're someone who loves wearing black all year round.)  I love these camel Rag & Bone Walker Booties (they come in two tones) and this MICHAEL Michael Kors Jamie Saddle Bag.

wear to work: Monday to Casual Friday

#OOTD: Monday to Casual Friday

Happy Friday!  I know at this point of the day you're just thinking about the weekend (and possibly a glass of wine), but I put together some outfits to take you from Monday to 'Casual Friday'.  I think everyone should own a great pair of black cropped trousers (GAP, J.Crew and ZARA are my go-tos), a white blouse, a blue shirt, a black blazer, a pair (or two) of flats (or heels, if that's your preference!), a pair (or two) of booties/boots, a sweaterdress (or 10 - you just put them on and go!), a cardigan (or two) for layering (offices are usually chilly), a suede and/or leather skirt and, last but not least, a pair of jeans (I recommend a dark wash) for 'Casual Friday'.

What's great about these items is that you can mix and match them.  So if you're looking to go shopping for fall clothes, I would start by looking at your closet and seeing if you need these items (or if any of them need updating).  And then you build from there.  The key is to add pieces that can work with the rest of your wardrobe, like the Aritzia (vegan) suede skirt, above.  Just swap out the sweaterdress, add one of the shirts shown above and you're good to go!  Once your basics are covered, then you can start adding in some fun items, like these pink J.Crew pants.  You also don't want to buy something that doesn't work with the rest of your wardrobe (I found that out the hard way).
