crop kick flare & flatforms

MICHAEL Michael Kors Sandals (similar here);
Urban Outfitters Hat (sold out, similar here);
Prada Sunglasses}

It seems to me people either love the crop kick flare or hate them.  I became obsessed with them (love these and these), but hesitated because I'm so petite.  They would end up being regular flares on me (which is great in a sense because then I don't have to hem regular flared jeans).  But I wanted at least a little crop so I checked out GAP since they have a petite section and sure enough they had these great crop kick jeans.  I normally stay away from the petite section because I'm usually not crazy about how they fit on me (I know, weird), but these jeans fit perfectly.  They're super comfortable.  I paired them with these flatforms I bought last year (or the year before), which are still popular.  Flatforms are super comfortable because they're not as high as your typical wedge sandal, but they still give you height.  My favourites are below!

Happy shopping!

off-the-shoulder floral midi

ZARA Sandals (similar here);
H&M Bracelets (old);

Happy Monday!  Hope all the Mamas out there had a wonderful Mother's Day!  It was 90 degrees here so this Mama was happy.  (I wore this set yesterday, post to come.)  I wore this Free People dress on my daughter's birthday the other day.  This dress is supposed to be a midi dress but because I'm so petite it's a maxi on me, which I figured it would be.  I actually love midis for that reason because maxis are definitely too long on me.  I'll wear this dress as a maxi this summer and the next time I see my mother-in-law I'll ask her to hem it so I can wear it as it was meant to be, which to me is fun because then it's like getting a new dress.  I also love that you can wear this dress a different way by lifting the sleeves up.  Bonus, this dress is under $100!

#OOTD / black & white

#OOTD / black & white

Happy Friday!  Today's #OOTD is inspired by this gorgeous dress I came across from Free People.  I'm usually someone who is drawn to colour (hence the added pop of colour with the bag), but black and white is always a classic and can never go wrong.  I especially love an LWD.  I love the way it's styled with a bow necklace (unfortunately I can't find it on the website, but you can tie this skinny scarf into a bow and a more delicate choker is here).  I'm also obsessing over these Raye sandals.  I have quite a few black wedge sandals, but not ones quite like these.  I love the wedge part for stability, but the front looks delicate.  I would pair this dress with a delicate bracelet since it already has so much going on (this Jacquie Aiche one is 30% off!).

eyelet

Tularosa Shorts (love this romper, similar shorts here, here, here and here);
J.Crew Bracelet (old)}

We celebrated my daughter's 4th birthday today!  My hubby worked from home and my daughter wanted pancakes for lunch so we headed to a waffle place (I wore this outfit) and then when my son came home from school she opened more presents and then we went out for pizza (I wore a Free People dress, post to come).  It was such a great day and I'm so blessed to have this little girl in my life!  I'm even more blessed that I'm now a stay-at-home mom and spend all day with her.  She is the funniest person I know and makes me laugh all day.

fab finds under $100

fab finds under $100

Today I was sent emails from at least four different stores/sites about sales.  I started to check them out but then stopped myself.  I used to buy stuff because it was on sale (I must have those shoes! They were $700 and now they're $300! And then never wore them.)  I try not to buy anything on sale now unless it's already in my 'shopping cart', 'saved items', or a 'heart'-ed item.  Unless they're Prada, obviously.)  ShopStyle is great for emailing you when stuff you actually want goes on sale.  I also love Shopbop for always doing that and Revolve just started doing that too.  So instead of putting together sale finds, I put together some fab finds under $100 because you don't always need a sale to find some great stuff for a great price.

cold shoulder

Brixton Dalila Hat (avail in black, in red here);
Schutz Erlina Sandal (also here, love this colour);

We went to dinner to one of my favourite restaurants (a fondue restaurant!) called The Melting Pot.  I wore this pretty floral dress from Pixie Market.  I'm loving the off-the-shoulder trend (can it always be a trend, please?), but I also love the cut-out shoulder, or the 'cold shoulder' trend (obsessed with this sweater, this floral dress, this romper, this striped top and this ruffle top).  This dress is super cute on its own, but the cut outs make it more interesting.  I brought out the touches of red in the dress by pairing it with my favourite Schutz sandals.

ready (set) go

ready, set, go

Today's #OOTD is inspired by my life the past couple of weekends.  Going from the beach to dinner, a set like this is perfect (which is why I ordered it just now ha).  It's easy breezy enough for the beach but dressy enough for dinner.  Once we start swimming in the ocean, things will change and I'll need to think about two outfits/day.  But I also love the fact that a set is like a romper, which if you haven't noticed by now I'm obsessed with, but you can use the pieces separately.  I'd wear the top with a denim skirt, cutoffs or white jeans (all high-waisted) and the skort with a white tank (and denim jacket if weather permitted), or possibly a crochet crop top.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
