denim blouse

A lot of times a denim top is stiff and can feel restrictive, but this Free People Charlotte Denim Blouse is so soft and comfortable.  It's oversized and flowy.  I love the pleating and exaggerated sleeves.  The long sleeves make it wearable now, but it's lightweight enough for warmer weather.  I originally thought of pairing this denim blouse with white shorts, but decided to go denim on denim and paired it with my go-to AGOLDE cutoffs.

cheap frills

{ZARA Frilled Sleeve Top (love this denim dress, this white blouse and I bought this olive top);
Urban Outfitters Fedora (similar here);

Sigh.  This was last Thursday.  (After I finally, after two years, got my hair cut and coloured (!) so we quickly took pictures before the sun went down, but I felt naked without a hat ha.)  I was so excited to finally throw on shorts.  It was so beautiful out.  These AGOLDE high rise cutoff shorts are one of the items I purchased during the shopbop sale.  Before the sale I made a list of items missing from my closet and a pair of black high-waisted cutoffs (to wear with cropped tops) were on that list and these are exactly what I was looking for.  (I also ordered a pair of loose fit cutoff shorts, which are equally amazing.  I'm now a new fan of AGOLDE.)  I'm now on the hunt for a pair of blue high-waisted shorts (I'm eyeing these Madewell ones) and a pair of white high-waisted shorts (I'm eyeing these GRLFRND ones).  The main reason why I threw on these shorts was because I wanted to wear this cropped top from ZARA.  I love the frilled sleeves, as I'm a sucker for a fancy sleeve, and this top is under $30!  Speaking of frills, I almost bought a cute ZARA jacket with frilled sleeves, but I thought, nah it's going to get too hot soon.  Yesterday I had to wear a winter coat.  Ha.  Speaking of ZARA, their mid-season sale (up to 50% on selected items) started today!

frayed & laced

Lack of Color The Spencer Boater Hat;
Prada Sunglasses}

Back in March, I paired this J.O.A. off the shoulder denim top with white skinny jeans (see post here).  This time I went with the opposite: black shorts.  Also, it is deathly hot here.  I almost wish I paired it with a black skirt.  Next time!  I half-tucked in the top this time since the top is almost as long as the shorts.  A great trick unless you like people thinking you're not wearing pants ha.  Then I added the usual suspects - my Lack of Color Hat, Vanessa Mooney bolo necklace and my now go-to ASOS sandals, which are super comfortable.

frayed, denim & off the shoulder

booties: Steve Madden (love these w/ fringe!, similar here);

Well, that escalated quickly.  It was chilly last weekend (my 'Sage' post was shot on Sunday), but Monday was really warm and the temps just kept going up!  This past weekend was gorgeous and we spent it at the beach.  My crazy kids even went in the ocean.  As much as it drives me crazy that it got so hot because I bought some long-sleeved tops I was excited to wear, I was also eagerly waiting to wear this off-the-shoulder top.  As soon as I saw it on the Pixie Market site, I immediately ordered it.  I knew I would be buying a few off-the-shoulder tops because they're everywhere right now and I've always loved strapless / cold shoulder / off the shoulder tops, this one was just so unique to me.  Frayed, denim... yes.  We went out to dinner Friday night (Gordon Biersch, again, for the Legendary Garlic Fries to reward myself because I ate really healthy for a whole 3 days), so I paired it with white denim to dress it up a little and my new Rebecca Minkoff bag, which I think is such a pretty colour and the perfect size for evenings.

You can shop my other favourite off-the-shoulder tops below.  Hope everyone has a great week!
