friday find: spring jackets

Spring is just around the corner!  I would say spring is my second favourite season for fashion because the weather is all over the place - one day you're wearing shorts (either with a tee, or a sweater) and one day you have to wear a jacket, but that's what I love about it!  It makes it fun dressing up every day.  I especially love a colourful spring jacket.  The BLANKNYC Utility Jacket and Madewell Military Jacket, above, are so pretty!  I just scooped up this pretty purple and yellow Free People Jacket, which is currently on sale!  It'll be perfect for those breezy beach nights.

A denim jacket, to me, is a must-have for spring.  I love throwing one over a floral dress!  A few years ago I purchased this MSGM Ruffle Trimmed Denim Jacket, which I paired with a white tee and denim skirt, a spring combo that never fails.  I also love pairing a denim jacket with a striped tee, another spring classic.  I paired an oversized denim jacket with a striped peplum tee on the blog here.  FARM Rio has become a new favourite brand of mine so I love their collaboration with Levi's, especially their Ex Boyfriend Trucker, above.  I love the crystal fringe trim on this Free People Denim BomberThis ZARA Cropped Oversized Jacket is under $50!  I love the puff sleeves on this Rails Denim Jacket.  Although I tend to stay away from black clothes, I love the simplicity of this black Free People denim jacket.  I also love the simplicity of this white Topshop Crop Denim Jacket.

If I were to purchase a black jacket for spring, it would have to have some unique details.  I'm loving this Elan Studded Cotton Jacket.  I love the lace details on this ivory Free People jacket.  I'm obsessing over this Isabel Marant Étoile Cotton Padded Jacket.  Normally I think of fall when it comes to corduroy, but this corduroy hooded bomber jacket from Urban Outfitters looks lightweight and comfy!

Happy (spring jacket) shopping!

Nordstrom half-yearly sale pt I

#Nordstrom half-yearly sale pt I

Nordstrom's 'Half-Yearly Sale' started today.  I've been combing through thousands of items and, since there are so many great pieces to choose from, broke my edit down into 2+ posts.  Part I includes items that are great to transition into spring with (since it's still a little cool in some areas) and part II will have more warm-weather pieces (stay tuned!).  Most items are 40% off, but only until June 4!  This Free People Weekend Wanderer Military Jacket (top, left) is the perfect jacket for spring.  I prefer whites for spring, but it also comes in green and black.  A sandal (I've been eyeing these leopard-print Steve Madden Inca Sandals) is a great way to dip your toe into spring (pun intended, sorry).  You can pair them with jeans and a long-sleeved top, like this pretty See by Chloe Fishnet Lace & Fringe Top, or this beautiful TIBI Cotton Poplin Asymmetrical Top.  I love the colour and the cold shoulder detail.  There are many spring bags on sale.  I love this Rebecca Minkoff Love Crossbody Bag in Sea Mist.  It would look great with an all-white outfit, or paired with another fun colour like the lavender TIBI top above.

You can shop all of the items above by clicking below!
Happy shopping!

{sweatshirt: Isabel Marant Pour H&M; GAP 1969 Legging Jeans; hat: J.Crew (similar);
jacket: Anthropologie (in-store, similar) sneaker wedge: Marc by Marc Jacobs; sunglasses: Prada}

Since I found a coat for the winter, I'm now stocking up on toques (or beanies, as some people call them) since last week was freezing.  This weekend was pretty mild, but I find if you wear a toque, you're able to get away with wearing less clothing anyway.  I love this J.Crew one (mine is the non-cashmere version - I bought it in-store) because it's a nice pop of colour against all the black and grey I've been wearing lately.  (Speaking of grey, I missed out on the cardigan I wanted from the Isabel Marant collection for H&M, but needed a sweatshirt and thought this 'smile' one from the kids' collection was cute.)  It's not like me to wear so much of those colours.  And I think I was starting to go through withdrawals last week because I also picked up a neon pink sweater from French Connection, which I am obsessed with.  I feel like myself again!
