rainy day

{sweater: Wilfred; jeans: GAP; rain boots: Marc by Marc Jacobs; hat: Guess;
sunglasses, necklace: Juicy Couture, bracelet: BCBG}

I've said it before, I don't mind a rainy day because I get to wear these adorable Marc by Marc Jacobs rain boots!  I'd prefer sunshine and hot weather, but when we were getting a lot of rain a couple (few?) years ago, I thought to myself, 'well if you can't beat 'em, join 'em... and buy rain boots that will make you actually excited when it rains".

blue orchid

{jeans: J Brand (also here); tee: Maison Scotch; necklace: Guess (bought in store);
shoes: Zara; sunglasses, bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs; Minnie ears: Disney Store}

It was my daughter's 1st birthday party on Sunday and at first I thought about wearing pink, since that was the theme, but I decided she should be the only one in pink, so I went the complete opposite and wore blue.  (I did steal her Minnie Mouse ears though.  She wasn't too crazy about wearing them anyway.)  I've been eyeing these orchid print J Brand jeans for a while now.  The print is so beautiful.  They fit really great and are super comfortable.  Since it was a casual birthday party, I dressed down the pants with a simple tee and threw on my blue Marc by Marc Jacobs accessories.  Again, I was having a blue moment.

Cleaning up the backyard...

{tee: Zara; jeans: GAP; shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs (bought at Holt Renfrew, also here);
sunglasses: Guess (old); bracelets: J.Crew (here and similar here), H&M (in store, recent)}

It was my daughter's 1st birthday on Saturday!  We had the party on Sunday though because it was Easter weekend for us Ukrainians and we bless our food on Saturday evening.  Plus her brother was at my in-laws for the week and was coming home Saturday afternoon.  I had a lot of errands to run, from picking up balloons (see below pic I posted on Instagram), to picking up the Minnie Mouse cake.  In honour of my daughter's birthday, who we call 'Miss Mouse' because her middle name is Minnie, I wore this adorable Minnie Mouse tee I recently picked up at Zara.  Of course, I couldn't help pairing my outfit with these Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats, which were perfect to run errands in because they are so comfortable!  Pink + Minnie Mouse = I am definitely a kid at heart!

I went with a pink, Minnie Mouse theme and these were 2 of 5 balloon bouquets.  These were the smaller bouquets!

florals, polka dots and bows, oh my!

{top: Madewell (also here); jeans, shoes (similar): GAP; blazer: Talula; handbag: RED Valentino;
bracelets: J.Crew (here and similar here); sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old)}

I love mixing florals and stripes (love that this Madewell tee has that combination built in!), so I thought I would try florals and polka dots.  Planning my daughter's 1st birthday party, I've been feeling very girly so I piled on the pink - from this super comfortable blazer to my accessories - and even originally pairing this outfit with pink heels because I'm petite and wearing boyfriend jeans with flats can make me look even shorter.  But running errands in my ripe old age of 33, I can no longer do so in heels.  Oh, to be young again.

blue suede shoes

{blazer: Joie; top: Wilfred; pants: GAP; shoes: Zara; necklace: Juicy Couture;
sunglasses, Rubber Standard Supply Bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs}

 I've definitely been having a blue moment lately, so when I saw these Zara peep toe wedges, I fell instantly in love.  (They also have them in coral, which I'm also loving this spring so I might have to pick them up as well.)  Of course, the first thing I thought to pair with my new shoes was my blue GAP khakis.  I love these pants so much I think I might buy them in every colour (I already have them in red, previously seen here).  I'm already thinking ahead to my next outfit: wearing these pants and shoes with this blue Madewell top.  I was never into the matchy-matchy look, but I see it everywhere and now am obsessed with it!

garden party

{dress: Eight Sixty; booties: MICHAEL Michael Kors (old); sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old);
bracelet: J.Crew; nails: CoverGirl 'lav-endure'}

I cannot get enough of florals.  My closet is starting to look like a garden.  Floral-print jeans (I'm currently obsessing over these J Brand orchid print ones), tops, blazers, bathing suits... and this dress.  Right when I saw it, I fell in love with it.  And then I went back to buy it because I couldn't stop thinking about it, but my size was gone.  Don't you hate when that happens?!  Luckily, I found it somewhere else.  I'm so happy I hunted it down because it's the perfect dress - you can take it from day to night and wear it so many different ways.  It looks great with a jean jacket, or black blazer.  A leather moto jacket would look amazing.  The colours are so bright and beautiful, you can't help but be happy wearing this dress.  I mean, who's unhappy in a garden full of beautiful flowers?

here kitty, kitty

{velvet loafers: Marc by Marc Jacobs (sold out, similar herehere and here);
pants: GAP; sweatshirt: Zoe Karssen (sold out, this one's cute); bracelet: BCBG;
sunglasses, necklace: Juicy Couture (old)}

These kitty loafers are so cute and perfect for spring.  (I've been waiting to wear them, since I bought them a while ago.)  And yesterday it really felt like spring, like birds chirping first thing in the morning and sunshine all day kind of spring.  It was still a little cool so I threw on another sweatshirt, since I had no plans to actually go anywhere.  (Even though I would totally wear this sweatshirt out and about because, well, it's not your typical sweatshirt.)  It's been a while since I had a pair of red pants and I love these GAP khakis so much that I also bought them in blue.
