sweet

{skirt (similar here and this one is so pretty), top: ZARA; blazer: Joie;

Summer is back!  It was starting to get really chilly and I was worried for a minute, but the last couple of days have been really warm.  I was ready for fall though because I'm pretty much done my fall shopping (already, I know - but fall clothes are my favourite!).  But I'm happy that we're getting some more warm weather because it really does feel like winter just ended.  I bought this pretty ZARA blouse thinking I was going to pair it with jeans, but I love skirts and definitely wanted to take advantage of the warmth so I paired it with this pretty ZARA skirt I bought this past winter.  The morning was a bit gloomy and cool so I threw on this floral blazer and ended up with a really girly outfit.  Plus, I love wearing bright colours when it's miserable out.  But the sun came out in the evening and it turned out to be a beautiful night.

colourful

bag: Coach; shoes: Valentino Garavani; bracelet: J.Crew; sunglasses: Prada}

I was talking about how I should wear this blazer more often here.  Well, it was cool last week so I guess my wish was granted in a way.  It seems to be a tradition now that I wear these Valentino flats on Fridays (we're allowed to wear jeans to work on Fridays so I usually start from the bottom up).  I refuse to put on long sleeves in the summer (unless I have nothing else to wear because I hate doing laundry), but I knew I would be cold wearing the tank alone so I reached for my plain light pink blazer, but changed it to this floral Joie blazer for a more matchy-matchy look.  There are tiny freckles of yellow in the jacket, which get picked up by this Coach bag.  (I probably would've carried this bag anyway because I'm usually pretty lazy about switching purses.)  The navy tank is neutral so it toned down the overall colourful look.

polkadots & florals

{dress: Talula; blazer: Joie (love this and this one); bracelet: J.Crew; sunglasses: Prada;
sandals: Splendid (similar here and here)}

Recently I wore this exact same dress but in blue (see here) and I was talking about how I also had a black version of the blazer I wore and I was going to wear it with this dress.  But I also happened to pull this beautiful Joie blazer that I bought last year out of my closet to remind myself to wear it soon.  (When you have a ridiculous amount of clothes, you need to do this at times, or else the season will pass and before you know it it's winter and you'll be kicking yourself saying, 'Why didn't I wear that?!'  Which is why I wonder sometimes why I continue to buy clothes and then I remember... oh, right, I'm a shopaholic.)  I saw this blazer hanging up outside my closet door and thought why wouldn't I wear this blazer rather than go with the obvious black?  I love mixing prints and this dress is perfect for doing so because the polkadots are not 'in your face'.  Because the blazer has speckles of yellow in it, my yellow Coach bag, which is my go-to these days, tied the outfit nicely together.  (See here on Instagram.)

So now that I wore this blazer, I'm already trying to figure out other ways of wearing it because I thought, 'Why do I not wear this beautiful blazer more often?!'  Oh, right, because of the excess clothing thing.

stripes and florals (office version)

{skirt (also like this one), shoes (newer styles here): GAP; top: Talula (old);
blazer: Joie (similar); bracelets: H&M (in-store); sunglasses: Prada}

I needed to take a break from the heels today so I went for a more casual look.  I knew it was going to be another hot day, but our office is freezing so I had to wear a blazer today.  Then the blazer came off because, of course, I sat in the part of the train with no air conditioning.  It cooled down this evening, which means I might be able to start wearing my new cozy sweaters and not sweat in the afternoon.  Then I'll start complaining that it's too cold outside.  I don't mind wearing fall coats, but once you start needing that winter jacket, I turn into a 5 year old and start wishing for April.  'Are we there yet?!'

blue suede shoes

{blazer: Joie; top: Wilfred; pants: GAP; shoes: Zara; necklace: Juicy Couture;
sunglasses, Rubber Standard Supply Bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs}

 I've definitely been having a blue moment lately, so when I saw these Zara peep toe wedges, I fell instantly in love.  (They also have them in coral, which I'm also loving this spring so I might have to pick them up as well.)  Of course, the first thing I thought to pair with my new shoes was my blue GAP khakis.  I love these pants so much I think I might buy them in every colour (I already have them in red, previously seen here).  I'm already thinking ahead to my next outfit: wearing these pants and shoes with this blue Madewell top.  I was never into the matchy-matchy look, but I see it everywhere and now am obsessed with it!

florals + stripes

{blazer: Joie (sold out, but love this one); top: RW&CO. (old); boyfriend jeans: GAP;
bag: RED Valentino; necklace: Dior (vintage); booties: MICHAEL Michael Kors;
sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old); nails: Sephora by O.P.I 'Havana Nights'}

It's been a trend for a while, but I'm loving everything and anything floral, especially mixed with stripes.  (Stripes are also a huge trend (aren't they always?), so it's easy to find some great pieces out there.)  I've been picking up everything floral, from these J.Crew "Liberty Chino" shorts, to this Madewell tee (which has the best of both worlds!), to this beautiful vintage Dior necklace.  This weather can't make up it's mind whether it wants to be spring or still winter, so wearing florals is the closest I think I'm going to get to spring.
