I instantly fell in love with this dress when I saw it. Well, I pretty much fall in love with every dress Pixie Market has - seriously, they're so cute! But this one is so unique. I love the sleeves and bold daisy print on the bottom. I'm petite and this dress is a S (normally I'm an XS) so I paired it with light pink pumps from GUESS because they look almost nude, which usually make legs look longer. Of course, when I wore this dress yesterday, I had to pair it with tights and booties because it cooled down from the weekend when I took these pictures. April showers basically started this week so maybe in May we'll start to get some spring weather?

brocade
{Anthropologie Brocade Charlie Trousers; top: GAP; bracelet: BCBG;
shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, love these studded ones); sunglasses: Prada}
I fell in love with these pants as soon as I saw them. I wasn't sure how they would look on though. But when I tried them on, I fell in love with them more. The brocade is beautiful and the fit is amazing. They're super comfortable, even though they look super fancy. I dressed them down with a pair of flats (the first ever Marc by Marc Jacobs mouse flats I've ever purchased), but add a pair of heels and fancy jewellery and you can wear these to an event instead of a dress. (FYI, I'm petite and they're actually supposed to be cropped, but I prefer them this way.)

tuck in / tuck out
Sometimes my biggest dilemma is whether to tuck my top in or leave it tucked out. With a high-waisted skirt, I prefer to keep my top tucked in to show more of the skirt. And I think it might make me look taller. But I was exhausted today, had a terrible sleep and left my sweater tucked out. So I guess it depends on my mood. Leaving it untucked showed the world that I just didn't have the energy today. Sure enough, one of the first comments I received today was 'you look tired'.

pretty collars
sunglasses: Prada; shoes: Nine West (old); nails: Essie 'Chinchilly'}
I'm a sucker for a pretty blouse, but even more so for a pretty collar. Again, another Anthropologie beauty. I was worried that I was going to have to cover up this blouse with a sweater, but it's a beautiful day today in Toronto and surprisingly our office isn't freezing.
p.s. Excuse the wrinkles - I'm lazy when it comes to ironing.

black & white / blue & orange
{sweater: Madewell; skirt: ZARA (last season, love this and this one); clutch: GAP; sunglasses: Prada;
cuff: Chanel (vintage); boots: MICHAEL Michael Kors (in-store; leopard version here)}
I wrote about my love of blue and orange here. I said it was my new favourite colour combo. Nothing beats fuchsia and orange, but this comes pretty close. The colour of this sweater is so beautiful and it's super soft and cozy. Thankfully I also bought it in black because it's a must-have for fall (it's now on backorder). It's merino wool so it's warm for the cool mornings, but it's also light enough for when the sun does come out in the afternoon. I immediately thought of pairing this outfit with this clutch I bought this past summer, which I never got around to using because I'm lazy when it comes to holding a clutch. But I actually didn't find it that much work and the double pop of colour brightened up a gloomy day.

coco
{Madewell Heartdot Boyshirt; Wilfred Free Natalia Skirt; cuff: Chanel (vintage);
booties: MICHAEL Michael Kors (old); sunglasses: Prada; nails: Essie 'Chinchilly'}
My first Chanel piece. Many years ago I ripped out a page from Instyle with these amazing Chanel heart shaped rings on it that I regretted not getting. I still have the page up on my bulletin board. So when I came across a similar vintage cuff to mine online, I thought it was the perfect piece that would help me get over not buying that ring, but someone had already added it to their cart. It said 'check back in 3 minutes'. I waited anxiously, but it was gone. So I stalked the LXR&Co. website until I spotted this cuff and immediately added it to my cart, jumping for joy that I was able to get to it before anyone else. It fits perfectly with the black & white trend, but it's also a piece that will never go out of style because, well, it's Chanel. I also love that it could be worn with a dress, or with jeans and a tee. It might be time to take down that page off my bulletin board.
A picture I posted earlier on Instagram showing more detail of the cuff. Follow me @marikachi!

stripes and florals (office version)
I needed to take a break from the heels today so I went for a more casual look. I knew it was going to be another hot day, but our office is freezing so I had to wear a blazer today. Then the blazer came off because, of course, I sat in the part of the train with no air conditioning. It cooled down this evening, which means I might be able to start wearing my new cozy sweaters and not sweat in the afternoon. Then I'll start complaining that it's too cold outside. I don't mind wearing fall coats, but once you start needing that winter jacket, I turn into a 5 year old and start wishing for April. 'Are we there yet?!'
