lavender

{J.O.A. Lavender Lace Cami*; jeans: 7 For All Mankind; bracelets: J.Crew; shoes: Guess;
bag: Nila Anthony (bought at Mendocino, others avail. here); umbrella: Coach; sunglasses: Prada}

I went to dinner with my sister Friday night for a girls' night and unfortunately it was a pretty gloomy day/night.  But I was able to wear jeans!  This is the first time I have worn anything past the knees since we moved to Myrtle Beach.  It was a nice break from the shorts I have been wearing.  I have yet to buy a pair of white skinny jeans, so I pulled out my favourite 7 FAM skinnies.  You can never go wrong with a pair of 7s.  I have been waiting to wear this pretty cami for a while now.  I love the pretty, delicate details.  (It matched my umbrella, which thankfully we didn't really need after a few sprinkles while taking these pictures.)  We went to P.F. Chang's and the food was amazing!  We had the chicken lettuce wraps, a yummy lobster avocado roll along with a couple of other rolls and some chicken fried rice.  We already can't wait to go back to try other things on the menu.

p.s. We were SO bummed Magic Mike XXL wasn't playing at The Market Common!

pretty pastels

{Talula Keisei Dress, Talula Kent Blazer; pumps: GUESS (other colours here and here);
bracelets: J.Crew; sunglasses: Prada}

I love pastels, especially paired together, so when I saw this pretty blue dress at Aritzia, I knew instantly that I would pair it with this pastel blazer (that I also picked up from Aritzia a year, or two ago) because the dress has spaghetti straps and an open back, which are not appropriate at my work.  But that's why I love this dress so much.  It works for the office by adding a blazer (or sweater) and it's perfect for drinks on a patio after work without the blazer, especially when it's super hot.  And if it gets a bit chilly, you just throw the blazer over your shoulders because it's so lightweight and drapey.  I love this dress so much that I also picked up this polka dot version and knew I could pair it with the same blazer that I also have in black.  I also just realized I have these pumps in black too.  Hey, when you love something that much, why not buy two?

easy breezy

{GAP Stripe Roll-Sleeve Shirt (in-store, white version here); skirt: ASOS; shoes: GUESS;
bracelet: BCBGeneration (similar); sunglasses: Prada}

Yesterday was another scorching hot day, but I was prepared.  This GAP shirt is super comfortable - you can almost sleep in it - and perfect for a hot day because of its loose fit.  I actually bought this ASOS skater skirt in the winter but never got around to wearing it, but thought it was the perfect match for this blouse.  Yes, normally you're supposed to pair something more fitted at the bottom if your top is on the voluminous side, but because I knew what the weather was going to be like, I wanted both pieces to be loose-fitting, but balanced the look out with these GUESS pumps.

april showers bring may flowers

{dress: Sister Jane (also here and here); shoes: GUESS; sunglasses: Prada}

 I instantly fell in love with this dress when I saw it.  Well, I pretty much fall in love with every dress Pixie Market has - seriously, they're so cute!  But this one is so unique.  I love the sleeves and bold daisy print on the bottom.  I'm petite and this dress is a S (normally I'm an XS) so I paired it with light pink pumps from GUESS because they look almost nude, which usually make legs look longer.  Of course, when I wore this dress yesterday, I had to pair it with tights and booties because it cooled down from the weekend when I took these pictures.  April showers basically started this week so maybe in May we'll start to get some spring weather?

touch of gold (tone)

{sweater: GAP; pants: ZARA; Pierre Hardy Block Heel Pump (black leather); bracelets: H&M;
necklace: Mendocino; bag: MICHAEL Michael Kors (other colours here); sunglasses: Prada}

It's still sweater weather and it's getting depressing.  Especially because I'm still wearing my wool coat on top of it (and still cold!).  It was so cold and rainy today (I shot this picture on the weekend when it was actually sunny) and the only thing getting me through this miserable weather is wearing brights, like these ZARA pants.  (And large Tim Hortons teas.)  Of course I fell in love with these Pierre Hardy pumps because they're pink, but also because they have a gold-tone plated heel, which makes them unique.  I added my adorable MICHAEL Michael Kors handbag with gold-tone hardware and some gold-tone jewellery to tie it all together.

spring-ish

{pumps: GUESS; jeans: GAP; sweater: Topshop}

It does not feel like spring.  At all.  We get a nice day here, or there, but for the most part it is still cold.  I've mostly been wearing my wool coat.  I commute in my Vans and I secretly wish I was still wearing my Uggs (no, I will never give up wearing Uggs.  I live in Canada).  But I am tired of wearing winter boots or booties.  My skin is still pale because I have barely seen the sun.  Everyone around me seems miserable and ready for summer.  I decided since the weather was not going to cooperate, I was going to dress for spring anyway and brought out my pink GUESS pumps.  (Baby steps.)  I paired them with this pretty blue Topshop floral sweater.  Later in the afternoon, I was surprised by these beautiful flowers by my hubby to cheer me up.  (When the weather's miserable, I blame him for not wanting to move to California.)  At the end of the day, it felt a little bit like spring-ish.

pink bunny

{top: Free People (love this one for spring); blazer: Talula (old, other colours); necklace: Coach (gift);
bracelets: H&M (in-store); bag: Nia Anthony (also here, bought at Mendocino);
shoes: Pierre Hardy (black leather here); sunglasses: Prada}

I had a baby shower to go to and it was supposed to be 8 and sunny so I put together two outfits: 1) a floral dress with a long-sleeved blouse underneath, in case it was warm enough to go bare legged; and 2) the outfit above.  Either way, I wanted to dress girlie and in pink (even though the shower was for a baby boy).  It snowed Saturday night so there was no way I was going to wear option 1), but it was actually quite beautiful out.  The sun was shining all day.  I even threw a trench coat over this outfit to wear to the shower, but I had to take it off in the car because it was actually that warm.  This weather makes me so happy.  I've been waiting to wear this Free People lace top again, which I bought last summer, with this pink blazer I bought from Aritzia a while ago.  It just screams spring to me.  Of course, nothing screams spring more than a pink bunny bag!
