falling for . . . wedge booties and beanies

{sweater, beanie: Free People; jeans (similar): 7 For All Mankind; rings: Gorjana;

It's beanie weather!  (So much for not wearing chunky sweaters yet.)  I love a good beanie, or toque as we Canadians call it.  I have a collection of them.  I also have a collection of wedges.  I cannot resist a wedge anything... sandal, boot...  I'm petite so I prefer to have some height, but also prefer comfort so wedges are the perfect solution.  I definitely have more wedges than any other type of shoe or boot in my closet.  I love these MICHAEL Michael Kors ones.  They're fairly high but very comfortable.  They also come in an olive green, which I'm debating getting too because they're too good.

monochrome | grey

I love a monochrome look, although I never am one to wear all black.  But grey on grey, white on white... I love, especially for fall/winter.  I've been on the hunt for a while for grey jeans and I found these at GAP and they're super comfortable.  I paired them with this grey tee for now, but I'm looking forward to wearing them with a chunky turtleneck.  I'm stocking up after the winter we had last year.  I just don't want to rush into wearing them quite yet.  I'm trying to hold out until December.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

colourful

{top: Anthropologie (similar here); jeans: GAP; blazer: Joie (love this jacket);
bag: Coach; shoes: Valentino Garavani; bracelet: J.Crew; sunglasses: Prada}

I was talking about how I should wear this blazer more often here.  Well, it was cool last week so I guess my wish was granted in a way.  It seems to be a tradition now that I wear these Valentino flats on Fridays (we're allowed to wear jeans to work on Fridays so I usually start from the bottom up).  I refuse to put on long sleeves in the summer (unless I have nothing else to wear because I hate doing laundry), but I knew I would be cold wearing the tank alone so I reached for my plain light pink blazer, but changed it to this floral Joie blazer for a more matchy-matchy look.  There are tiny freckles of yellow in the jacket, which get picked up by this Coach bag.  (I probably would've carried this bag anyway because I'm usually pretty lazy about switching purses.)  The navy tank is neutral so it toned down the overall colourful look.

citrusy

handbag: Coach; bracelets: J.Crew, H&M; sunglasses: Prada}

I fell in love with this jacket as soon as I saw it because the colour is so pretty.  It's the perfect jacket for spring.  It became so hot lately that I was worried I wouldn't get around to wearing it.  I find that with spring jackets.  Our weather goes from cold to hot in seemingly a week so my spring jackets barely get a chance to be worn.  But yet I continue to buy them because they're always so pretty.  I wanted this jacket to be the focal point of my outfit (since I probably will only wear it a couple of times because it's getting hot again) so I wore all white.  Plus, it's been feeling like summer lately so I've been automatically reaching for these white jeans.

sweater dresses & booties

{sweater dress: GUESS (old, love this ASOS one and this Halston Heritage one);
boots: Marc by Marc Jacobs; bracelet: Coach; hat: Urban Outfitters; sunglasses: Prada}

So it's going to be another freezing week this week.  I was hoping last week was going to be the last of it, but sadly I was wrong.  I even swore I would not put on another chunky sweater again until next fall/winter and to start wearing spring clothes, but the weather won and here I am wearing a sweater dress.  I've had this Guess one for years and it's one of my favourites.  (I even wore it when I was pregnant!)  I love sweater dresses for the winter because they're so cozy and easy to throw on.  (I'm obsessed with this UNIF one.)  I am starting to shop little by little though for spring items and have been eyeing some amazing sandals, but instead of torturing myself since I won't be able to wear them for probably months, I bought these gorgeous booties to help me get through the next few (several?) weeks.  Take that, winter.
