I love hats, but I especially love fall hats.  (I also love toques, but that's because I have no choice but to wear them because it gets so cold here in the winter.)  I bought this one from Juicy Couture last fall, but ordered a couple new ones - from Urban Outfitters and Free People (links above), and recently bought a gray one from BCBG.  They not only complete an outfit in my opinion, but they're really great for bad hair days.  Although I feel like summer is flying by too fast, I am really looking forward to fall fashion and am slowly transitioning with hats.  I just hope it doesn't get too cold too fast.  I feel like we just got over that looooong winter.

My go-to colour for summer is most definitely white.  I bought several items from Free People recently and the majority were white.  I also bought a few tops from GAP and J.Crew and they were all white.  Yesterday I even bought a pair of white Vans.  I love wearing white all year round, but there's just something about wearing white in the summer.  Of course if you have a tan then white looks even better, but for the past several years I try to avoid getting a tan because obviously it's not good for you.  (I have not had any luck with tanning lotions so if anyone has any recommendations, I would love to hear them!)  I've been looking for a pair of high-waisted white cutoffs and these fit great, but this top is what makes the outfit.  It is so beautiful.  I especially love the tassels!  

p.s. I hated wearing lipstick until I discovered Smashbox 'Be Legendary' lipsticks.  It does not even feel like you are wearing lipstick and they make the most amazing colours!

I was looking for a kimono recently and came across this beautiful Free People one when I was shopping on their site.  I had already put a few pieces in my cart (that I whittled down from about 20) so I was happy to see that this kimono was not going to break the bank.  This kimono is like a blanket, so perfect for those cooler summer nights.  I also just bought these high-waisted shorts from Urban Outfitters that I am obsessed with (so much so that I bought them in two different colours).  I paired these shorts with a white tank and, once again, refused to wear a bra because I was hanging around in our backyard (bra worn for pictures above), but this kimono was perfect for covering up while I was running errands.  Kimono > wearing a bra.

I live for this weather!  I love when it's humid.  I went to Las Vegas on a July long weekend years ago and that wasn't even too hot for me.  Only a few things you can wear on days like these.  I almost ordered these Cameo high waisted shorts, until I remembered about a pair I bought a few years ago in a similar colour.  I read that if you're short, you should wear high waisted shorts/pants/skirts to give the illusion of long legs.  Is it working?  I'm not sure, but I love these shorts nonetheless.  They're perfect to wear casually, but you can also add a blazer and wear them on a night out.  Maybe not so much on these humid nights.
