{sweater: ZARA (in-store, love this and this one); skirt (similar here), socks: Free People; shirt: GAP;
I came across an article a little while back about which colours suit brunettes the best. Navy was one of them so I scooped up a knit sweater immediately because I had limited navy items. (I wore navy in elementary school so I've avoided it for the most part.) Light yellow was also one of the colours listed. I LOVE yellow and have many summer pieces in yellow so I was surprised when I searched my closet that I did not own any A/W pieces. (I did however own a mustard yellow sweater, which I quickly donated.) I saw a picture of a yellow sweater paired with a leopard skirt so I was determined to find one to pair with this Free People skirt I bought last year and love so much. It was a nice change from pairing it with the typical black, white or grey. Of course when you're looking for something in a specific colour you can never go wrong with searching at GAP, J.Crew or ZARA. In this case, I found what I was looking for at ZARA and it was on sale for $20 - score! (Unfortunately, it's sold out online.) Not only do I agree that this colour is flattering (I was always unsure about that mustard yellow sweater), but I'm also ahead of the game since yellow is a big trend for spring.
