drip dot

{Dolce Vita Abeni Drip Dot Romper (also here); shoes: Guess (old, but love these);
hat: Roxy (similar style); sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs; bracelet: BCBG}

When it comes to polka dots, I'm like a moth to a flame.  This is my second Dolce Vita polka dot romper (other seen here) and third polka dot romper overall (a black MBMJ one with white polka dots, which I bought years ago and am still obsessed with).  I don't know if you would consider this a problem at this point, but if I see another polka dot romper, there's a good chance I will be buying it.

floral jumpsuit

{jumpsuit: Eight Sixty (sold out, similar here and love this short one); hat: Roxy (similar);
sunglasses: MBMJ; wedges: Guess (old, but love these); bracelets: H&M (in-store)}

Lately I've been living in rompers, overalls... especially in this heat.  I'm also obsessed with florals, so I instantly fell in love when I saw this floral jumpsuit.  I love the easiness of it.  No jewellery required with a print like this.  Perfect for a heat wave.

4-in-1

{4-in-1 dress: GAP; shoes: Steve Madden; sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs;
bracelet: BCBG}

I love a maxi dress, but this dress can be worn 4 different ways so it's extra special.  (For the price, you're basically getting the dress for around $15!)  I love putting a sweater over top of a maxi dress, basically turning the dress into a skirt for a new look, but this one can be turned into a skirt and you can wear a sweater tucked into it.  Or a tank.  It's definitely going to be a recurring piece in my closet this summer.

wild kisses

{top: Maison Scotch; boyfriend jeans: GAP; wedges: Matiko (similar here);
sunglasses: MBMJ; bracelets: BCBG (in-store, sold out online), H&M (in-store)}

This is the second top that I bought recently with lips on it.  Who can resist a kiss, let alone a wild one?  I discovered Maison Scotch just a little while ago and now am a big fan.  I love the leopard touch to this t-shirt so, of course, paired it with these amazing Matiko leopard wedges since I seem to be matchy-matchy with my outfits these days.  I used to buy a lot of t-shirts, specifically Marc by Marc Jacobs ones, but they would just sit in my drawer because usually when I get home from work I immediately put on my pjs and weekends I usually dress up.  Now that I'm on mat leave, I've been wearing a lot more casual clothes, which is nice for a change.

electric

{Chale Neon Dots Romper: Dolce Vita (also love this one);
head wrap, Rubber Standard Supple Bracelet, sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs;
bracelet: Coach; wedges: Guess by Marciano; lipstick: Smashbox 'Fuchsia Flash'}

I'm lazy when it comes to my hair, especially in the summer.  I usually let it air dry, but my hair is partially wavy and has a mind of its own so I put it up most of the time.  So when I saw these Marc by Marc Jacobs head wraps, I knew I had to have one.  The colours are beautiful.  You can wear them so many different ways and look put together, even if you just tossed your hair up into a bun.  I'll probably pick up the 'shocking orange' colour too.

pinkalicious

{Crinkle Strawberry Fields Dress: Free People; bracelets: J.Crew, H&M;
sunglasses, espadrille wedges (yellow version here): Marc by Marc Jacobs}

It was my birthday on Friday and I would not feel right in any other colour than pink!  This Free People dress is so beautiful.  I thought about pairing it with white wedges, nude wedges... but I thought since it was my birthday, I'd go all out and wear head-to-toe pink and pretend I was a princess.  (Plus, these Marc by Marc Jacobs wedges are adorable!)  It was the perfect dress, the perfect weather, the perfect day.  Definitely felt like a princess.

shopping is my cardio

{tee: Wildfox Couture (sold out, hoodie version here); shorts: AG; sunglasses,
espadrilles: Marc by Marc Jacobs; necklace: Guess; bracelets: H&M (in-store)}

Today is my birthday!!  It's, thankfully, a GORGEOUS day out.  Hot, hot, hot - just like I like it!  I ordered an adorable Free People dress (in pink, of course) for my birthday dinner tonight.  It arrived this morning and it's beautiful.  I can't wait to wear it!

For my birth(day) outfit, I'm wearing this amazing Wildfox Couture tee.  I believe this tee was made for me.  I'm a shopaholic and I hate doing cardio.  I actually hate working out altogether.  But I did recently get back on the treadmill for the first time after having a baby a year ago.  Bikini season is approaching quickly.  Plus, it's obviously healthy for you.  I'd like to start doing yoga too.  But if all else fails, I will just go shopping!  (Which I plan to do today, of course.)

pink & orange pt. II

{sweatshirt, espadrilles, sunglasses (old): Marc by Marc Jacobs;
boyfriend shorts: GAP; bow ring: H&M (in-store); lips: Smashbox 'Fuchsia Flash'}

I am obsessed with this MBMJ sweatshirt.  It's so cozy and fun.  I thought I was done wearing it during the day, but it's back to being cool out.  This weekend's supposed to be really nice, which would be great since it's my birthday tomorrow!  Not many people like celebrating their birthdays (at my age), but it's an excuse for me to buy new things (hey, who says I can't buy myself birthday presents?), go out to dinner and have cake.  I don't pay attention to the getting older part.

fuchsia & leather(ette)

{sweater: J.Crew; leatherette leggings: AG Adriano Goldschmied; bag: Aldo;
shoes: MICHAEL Michael Kors; necklace: Guess; bracelet: BCBG; sunglasses: MBMJ}

I had plans to meet up with some girlfriends for dinner last night and was excited to wear a cute little romper or dress.  But no such luck, it was cold.  So I pulled out these leatherette leggings I love so much.  I was hoping to, at least, wear them with some leopard wedge sandals I bought a little while ago (that I have yet to wear), but no such luck, it was pouring rain.  Already set on this leopard bag (love the pop of pink!) I have barely used and have had for years, and not one to dress in all black, I thought what better top to pair with these leather leggings and bag than this J.Crew fuchsia sweater.  This linen sweater is definitely a staple, so lightweight and comfy, that I might have to buy it in the other two colours.

overall short

{overalls: Free People (also here); tee: TNA; sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old);
hat: Roxy (similar here); bracelets: H&M (in-store)}

I am, overall, short, but that's not what I'm talking about here.  I'm talking about these adorable Free People floral overall shorts I posted on Instagram earlier today.  It's been raining a lot lately so I've been staying indoors the past few days, or if I have headed out, it's been in these Marc by Marc Jacobs rain boots that I love so much, usually with skinny jeans and a sweater.  Today, thankfully, the sun was shining so we headed to the beach for some gelato.  Really can't think of a better way to spend the day.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

pink & orange

{wedge espadrille, sunglasses (old): Marc by Marc Jacobs; top: J.Crew; pants: GAP; necklace: Guess;
bracelets: J.Crew and H&M (in-store, recent); nails: Essie 'Blanc'}

I'm never one to shy away from colour.  You will hardly ever see me in all black.  I've always loved pink.  It's funny that I didn't realize this is the second pair of pink Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes I bought this season until after these shoes arrived.  I love the black and white trend (I even have a couple of MBMJ black and white striped dresses), and I especially love the all-white trend, but my favourite trend (whether it's a current trend or not) is colour-blocking, especially with these two colours.

all about the benjamins

{Benjamin Raglan-Sleeve Jumpsuit: BCBG; wedges: Valentino (old, but obsessed with these);
sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs; bracelets: J.Crew and H&M (in-store)}

I bought this jumpsuit a while ago and have been waiting to wear it.  Now that I've worn it once, I'll be wearing it more casually with flat sandals during the day, but it's so beautiful that I wanted to save it for a special occasion for the first time I wore it.  Thankfully, it was gorgeous out (actually quite hot out) when I had dinner this past weekend with some girlfriends.  I always liked the idea of wearing shorts out on a night out, but now there are so many options (rompers/jumpsuits, skorts...) that it's my go-to choice over a dress.

check it

{Harry Checked Thermal Jumpsuit, sunglasses (old): Marc by Marc Jacobs;
wedges: Guess by Marciano (old, love these); bracelet: BCBGeneration}

Yay, I was finally able to wear this Marc by Marc Jacobs jumpsuit!  I prefer to call it a romper.  I just like saying romper.  It was so hot on Friday.  Deathly hot.  But I love it.  In the evening, there's no need to worry about changing, or putting on a sweater.  It would be a shame to cover up this adorable thing.  I don't know what it is about rompers that I love so much.  Maybe it brings out the kid in me.  Maybe it's the fact that they're so easy to throw on, but more functional than a dress.  The first romper I bought since I was a child (although I didn't purchase my clothes as a child) was a polka dot Marc by Marc Jacobs one, which is still one of my favourite pieces to wear.  I also wore a jumpsuit on Saturday (post to come).  Is there a limit to how many rompers/jumpsuits an adult could own, before people start worrying about a Peter Pan-complex?  (Well, I actually LOL'd when I wrote 'adult' so maybe I should start to worry.)
