pink lady

{shirt, skirt: ZARA; shoes: Guess by Marciano; bracelets: H&M, J.Crew; sunglasses: Prada}

I saw this shirt/skirt combo in the ZARA lookbook and immediately fell in love.  At first I thought it was a dress and as much as I love a dress, I was happy to find out it was two separate pieces because it could be worn two different ways.  First, as seen above, not tucking the shirt into the skirt, which shows the two tones of the shirt, which is what I love so much about it.  The other way to wear this outfit is tucking the shirt in which gives it a more polished look.  I love the look above because it's a more looser vibe, which I thought was appropriate hanging out on a rooftop of a hotel after my Goddaughter's Communion.  It was also really hot that day.

mellow yellow

{top: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old); jeans: GAP; jacket: Anthropologie (similar here and here);

I finally brought out this beautiful Coach bag.  I've been waiting for warmer weather because I did not want it rubbing against my darker coloured jackets.  Then there was rain.  It was still raining on Friday but I was starting to get impatient since I bought this bag a couple of months ago.  Thankfully I didn't get caught in the rain, but my hair is another story, which is where the hat comes in.  I have naturally wavy hair so when there's a bit of humidity plus dampness in the air, a hat is a must.  Thankfully I love hats and this J.Crew floral one is so pretty.

casual camo

{jacket: BB Dakota; tee: Maison Scotch; jeans: GAP; shoes: Vans;
bracelet: BCBG (old); sunglasses: Prada}

I had 6 amazing days off and even though it was supposed to rain most of the time, there was a lot of sunshine. Still cool at times, it was the perfect weather for this lightweight camo jacket.  It was also perfect weather for this froyo #yum.

pinks

{top: Mendocino (in-store, recent); jeans: Marciano (similar here); bracelet: J.Crew;
handbag: RED Valentino (similar here and here); shoes: Steve Madden; sunglasses: Prada}

Yesterday was my first gig as a personal shopper.  I wanted to wear something casual and easy, but not too casual.  I went with pinks to show my true personal style.  I don't have training to be a personal shopper, nor do I plan on doing it for a living, but it is my dream job.  To shop all day long and not have to spend your own money?  Genius.  My first client was my aunt.  It was tempting at times to shop for myself, but I wanted to give her all of my attention.  (I did manage to pick up a couple of pieces at the GAP because it was the last day to use my 'GAP Cash'.)  We went shopping for 4.5 hours and she spent almost $1500.  I'd say it was a success!  She was a very happy client, which made me very happy.  Maybe it's something I should consider?

studs & lace

necklace: Coach (gift); bracelets: Coach, H&M; sunglasses: Prada}

I am in love.  I have been coveting a pair of shoes from the Valentino 'Rockstud' collection for a long time now and finally decided I was going to splurge for my 35th birthday.  I kept seeing the nude version everywhere and although neon is fun and black would go with everything, it was the nude that caught my eye.  So I searched the web to see where was the best place to buy them (free shipping, sizes, ease of returning) and came across farfetch.com.  They had the nude version in every size.  But, wait, what are those?!  This pink, I've never seen this pink before!  It was a big chunk to put on my credit card, but I thought better to be safe than sorry and order two different sizes.  I ordered the nude in what I thought would fit me - a 35.5 (having already tried a size 36) and the pink in the 35 (because they didn't have them in the 35.5).  As I waited, I was hoping the nude would fit me better because I thought they would be the best investment - nude goes with everything!  But the pink version arrived first and they are stunning, but a tad snug.  Thinking I should still go with the nude, deep inside I had hoped the nude would be too big.  Sure enough that was the case.  After wearing these all day I am so glad I stuck with the 35 because they are super comfortable.  It was meant to be.

denim dress & sneakers

{dress: Topshop; sweater: Marc by Marc Jacobs; sneakers: Vans;
bracelets: H&M; sunglasses: Prada}

It was such a beautiful day today.  Not only was it Mother's Day - my kids made me the most beautiful pieces of art and we went out for an amazing brunch (see here what I ordered, yum!) - but the weather was just perfect.  I wore a colourful Marc by Marc Jacobs dress to brunch, which is the same dress I wore last year to brunch (see here).  We even ate at the same restaurant.  I think I'm going to make that a tradition.  After brunch, I changed into this denim Topshop dress and sneakers and soaked up that sunshine.

Hope all the mothers out there had an amazing day!

peachy sunsets

shoes: Steve Madden NONSTP (also here); sunglasses: Prada}

Spring is finally here!  I have worn a spring (technically, fall) jacket all week so I think that's safe to say.  I bought this pretty BB Dakota jacket a little while ago and have been waiting - and waiting - to wear it.  Well the day has finally come and it's supposed to be a really warm one!  This jacket is perfect for spring, super comfy and a great price.  I started shopping for spring clothes recently and normally would be able to start wearing sandals around this time, but because it's been chilly I was on the hunt for the perfect 'everyday' shoe to pair with lighter clothes.  I came across these amazingly comfortable Steve Madden open toe booties/mules and they were exactly what I was looking for.  And this is the weather I've been waiting for.

minnie

jacket: H&M (old); shoes: GUESS; necklace: Coach (old, gift); sunglasses: Prada}

My daughter turned two this past weekend!  Her middle name is Minnie and her great aunt sent along these Minnie ears.  She did not want to wear them but I couldn't resist!  (I went to Disney World when I was about 8 and the only thing I remember about that trip was meeting Minnie.  At the end of this year we're taking our kids to Disney World and I cannot wait for my daughter to meet Minnie Mouse!)  I normally don't wear jeans when I have company over for a special occasion, but I felt these Marc by Marc Jacobs polka dot jeans suited the occasion.  My daughter was taking a nap so I drove my sister home and she took these pictures for me.  It was a lot of fun!  I mean, how could you not have fun wearing Minnie ears?

april showers bring may flowers

{dress: Sister Jane (also here and here); shoes: GUESS; sunglasses: Prada}

 I instantly fell in love with this dress when I saw it.  Well, I pretty much fall in love with every dress Pixie Market has - seriously, they're so cute!  But this one is so unique.  I love the sleeves and bold daisy print on the bottom.  I'm petite and this dress is a S (normally I'm an XS) so I paired it with light pink pumps from GUESS because they look almost nude, which usually make legs look longer.  Of course, when I wore this dress yesterday, I had to pair it with tights and booties because it cooled down from the weekend when I took these pictures.  April showers basically started this week so maybe in May we'll start to get some spring weather?

moments

handbag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5 Zip (bought at Mendocino, love this colour); hat: Big It Up (old)}

{jeans: One Teaspoon Minnie Awesome Baggies (bought at Mendocino); t-shirt: GAP}

Just a little post of a couple of moments shot this past week.  The first moment: shopping with my 4 year old son, who took this picture (I think photography may be in his future!).  I've been living in these camo pants from Aritzia and this Free People denim jacket is my go-to jacket lately.  I thought I found the perfect denim jacket last spring from H&M, but no denim jacket is as comfy as this one with knit sleeves.  The second moment: taking a sick day and hanging out in my new favourite jeans.  These 'Awesome Baggies' are super comfy and perfectly distressed.  I could sit in them, drink tea and read magazines all day, everyday.  Minus the sick part.
