garden party

{dress: Eight Sixty; booties: MICHAEL Michael Kors (old); sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old);
bracelet: J.Crew; nails: CoverGirl 'lav-endure'}

I cannot get enough of florals.  My closet is starting to look like a garden.  Floral-print jeans (I'm currently obsessing over these J Brand orchid print ones), tops, blazers, bathing suits... and this dress.  Right when I saw it, I fell in love with it.  And then I went back to buy it because I couldn't stop thinking about it, but my size was gone.  Don't you hate when that happens?!  Luckily, I found it somewhere else.  I'm so happy I hunted it down because it's the perfect dress - you can take it from day to night and wear it so many different ways.  It looks great with a jean jacket, or black blazer.  A leather moto jacket would look amazing.  The colours are so bright and beautiful, you can't help but be happy wearing this dress.  I mean, who's unhappy in a garden full of beautiful flowers?

here kitty, kitty

{velvet loafers: Marc by Marc Jacobs (sold out, similar herehere and here);
pants: GAP; sweatshirt: Zoe Karssen (sold out, this one's cute); bracelet: BCBG;
sunglasses, necklace: Juicy Couture (old)}

These kitty loafers are so cute and perfect for spring.  (I've been waiting to wear them, since I bought them a while ago.)  And yesterday it really felt like spring, like birds chirping first thing in the morning and sunshine all day kind of spring.  It was still a little cool so I threw on another sweatshirt, since I had no plans to actually go anywhere.  (Even though I would totally wear this sweatshirt out and about because, well, it's not your typical sweatshirt.)  It's been a while since I had a pair of red pants and I love these GAP khakis so much that I also bought them in blue.

cozy chic

 {MBMJ Sweatshirt; Lily Polka Dot Skinny Jeans, Rubber Standard Supply Bracelet, sunglasses (old):
Marc by Marc Jacobs; chambray shirt: Madewell; oxfords: (bought at The Bay, also here}

I pretty much love anything Marc Jacobs creates, hence why I call my blog what I do... but when I need a pair of jeans I usually look to 7 For All Mankind or, a more recent favourite, GAP.  But I bought these jeans because they had polka dots on them (I can't resist anything with polka dots) and I must say they are the most comfortable jeans I have ever owned.  So not only do they look awesome - polka dots, distressed - but I want to live in them.  Add my new Marc by Marc Jacobs graffiti sweatshirt and I have the coziest weekend outfit, pulled together with my new favourite chambray shirt from Madewell.  Perfect to go shopping in, then to the park with the kiddies.

white denim

{sweater: Wilfred; jeans: GAP; jacket: J Brand; bracelet: BCBG;
sunglasses (old), cross-body bag (Saks, sold out online, but love this one): Marc by Marc Jacobs}

I'm not opposed to wearing white after Labour Day, but white denim screams spring/summer to me.  I'm officially transitioning my wardrobe into spring and if I was wearing blue or black bottoms, this outfit would be pretty dark and that's not how I want to start the season.  Even though the weather is really ticking me off.  Today it was raining... then warm and sunny... then cool... and then windy and flat out friggin' freezing.  I'm fine with it being a little cool, but I find our weather goes from cold to hot (see weather yesterday) and I don't get to wear all the cute little spring jackets in my closet.  I have to get in the habit of wearing scarves, but to me they scream winter and it's very confusing to me to wear a scarf with a spring jacket.

(Btw, I've always been a 7 FAM jeans kinda gal, but I'm really, really loving GAP's skinny jeans.)

polka dot on polka dot

{dress: Topshop; shoes: GAP (sold out online, similar here); sunglasses: Juicy Couture (old);
Classic Q Hillier Mini Hobo Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, but larger version here)}

I guess Mother Nature read my last post because there was a heat wave today!  It's supposed to be a lot cooler again tomorrow so, as I've said before, I'm not getting my hopes up.  But I enjoyed every minute of it today and what better dress to celebrate the heat wave than this adorable Topshop dress, which I saw in Glamour recently.  As someone who is obsessed with polka dots, I had to have it.  The actress modelling it was/is pregnant and it looked super cute on her, so it almost makes me want to get pregnant again just so I can wear it during my pregnancy.  I loved rocking my pregnant belly.  But it's not going to happen...anytime soon.

camo on camo

{jacket (old), jeans: GAP; tee: Zara; bracelet: BCBG
sunglasses (old), sneaker wedge: Marc by Marc Jacobs (few sizes left here);
cross-body bag: Steve Madden (Winners, recent)

Yay, sunshine (again)!  I won't get too excited because it will probably be taken from us, once again.  I mean, it was snowing late last week.  But I'll enjoy it while we have it.  Soon it will be too hot that people will be complaining that it's too hot, but not me.  Bring on the scorching heat!  And then I'll be replacing my camo jeans with these adorable Guess camo shorts.  I'm clearly having a thing for camo lately.

blue & orange

{MBMJ Sweatshirt, hobo bag (old, but larger version here), watch (Holt Renfrew, but also here), sunglasses (old), Rubber Standard Supply Bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs; jeans: J Brand
necklace: Juicy Couture (old); nails: CoverGirl in 'Coral Silk'}

I think this may be my new favourite colour combination: royal blue and orange.  While I was online shopping, I saw an outfit put together that consisted of a similar pair of blue pants and a solid orange sweater, so when this Marc by Marc Jacobs sweater arrived the other day (which I'm totally obsessed with btw), I immediately thought of pairing it with these royal blue J Brand pants I happened to already own.  (Normally I would have just thrown on jeans.)  Then it led me to create another outfit in my closet, which consists of orange linen pants and a royal blue cropped sweater.  Now if only the weather would heat up, I could wear it.  But since there was freezing rain the other day, I guess I will stock up on some more sweaters.  In April.

current obsession: romper and coachella dreaming

{Marc by Marc Jacobs Harry Halter Romper: nordstrom.com}

Sigh.  I've always wanted to go to Coachella.  Maybe next year.  I love music, of course, but seeing what everyone is wearing is just as exciting.  I just ordered this romper and I would probably wear something like this.  I would add a hat, some (minimal) jewelry and a pair of sandals or flat booties.  Maybe a denim vest, depending on the weather.  But I live in Canada and there has been freezing rain, so it looks like I won't be wearing this cute little romper anytime soon.

(I also put together another little outfit I would probably wear on my Instagram.)

current (and always) obsession: marc jacobs

It's fitting that today I received a package from marcjacobs.com on Marc Jacob's birthday.  But the chances of that happening were relatively high since I'm always shopping for Marc Jacobs.  I'm a fan of many designers, sure, but the one designer's clothes I most covet are his.  I've been a fan for many years now.  It started with those spunky "Miss Marc" t-shirts, flip flops, totes... I even have a Miss Marc watch.  Then I had to get my hands on one of those denim Louis Vuitton bags.  Today, my closet is now filled with Marc by Marc Jacobs pieces, and one pair of Marc Jacobs pumps that will forever be my favourite pair (I bought them 8 years ago).  When I was thinking of starting this blog, I naturally thought of this title because, well, I'm always wearing something by Marc Jacobs.  And now I'm even making my daughter wear him too.

no tights

{sweater (in-store, recent), bracelet: BCBG; skirt: Zara;
booties: MICHAEL Michael Kors (old); sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old)}

 I get to a point in spring when I'm just done wearing boots, tights, heavy coats... even if they're still necessary.  But this back and forth weather drives me crazy.  So I rebel.  Which is strange because I get SO cold SO easily.  But most Canadians do it - the first sign of warm weather and people start wearing shorts.  At least I'm wearing a sweater and not a tank top.  (If you go downtown Toronto, I swear you'll see someone in a tank top!)  The only thing I might throw tights on to wear is shorts... and that's just because I like that look.

minty fresh (parts 1 and 2)

{blouse, sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old); jeans: GAP; boots: Sam Edelman (also here);
necklace: Coach (old); 'sweet' affirmation bracelet: BCBGeneration (also here)}

{denim shirt: Marc by Marc Jacobs; jeans: GAP; boots: Sam Edelman (also here); bag: RED Valentino;
bracelets: J.Crew (here and here); sunglasses: Madewell; nails: Covergirl 'lav-endure'}

I am obsessed with these GAP mint skinny jeans.  First I thought of pairing them with this beautiful Marc by Marc Jacobs eyelet blouse I bought years ago for a monochromatic look, which I'm really into these days.  Then a couple of weeks later, I paired it with my favourite Marc by Marc Jacobs denim shirt.  I saw these adorable mint hepcat shades and thought they would go great with these mint jeans.  And, of course, added some pops of pink.

shades of blue

{chambray shirt: Madewell; jeans: Guess by Marciano (old); shoes: GAP;
sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (similar here); belt: Zara (old);
'sweet' affirmation bracelet: BCBGeneration (also here); nails: Sephora by O.P.I 'Havana Dreams'}

Right when I saw these blue Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses last summer, I instantly fell in love with them.  The only problem is that I have yet to get prescription lenses put in them because I have so many pairs of sunglasses and it costs a small fortune just for one pair, so I don't wear them as often as I'd like.  I can wear them, as long as I'm not driving.  Or needing to see a few feet ahead of me.  But this summer I'll have to change that because I'm obsessing over chambray shirts (especially this Madewell two-tone one) and the whole denim on denim / monochromatic look.

the blues

{top: Madewell (sold out, but comes in ivory); leatherette legging jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied
bag (sold out, but love this one), sunglasses (old): Marc by Marc Jacobs;
booties: MICHAEL Michael Kors (old); bracelet: BCBG; lips: Smashbox in 'Fuchsia Flash'}

I was heading out to a surprise birthday party and was hoping to wear open-toed shoes, but it was still too chilly.  But right before I left (around 7 pm), the sun was still shining and it felt really warm, which wasn't the case an hour earlier.  So I was fooled and threw on a light jacket when I headed out the door, and was freezing in my car by the time I left the bar.  I am not a fan of this in-between weather.  But then again, at least it's not snowing anymore.

current obsession: wedge pumps

{Marc by Marc Jacobs Polka Dot Leather Wedge Pumps: saks.com}

{Marc by Marc Jacobs Suede Triple Ankle Strap Wedge Pumps: saks.com}

Sigh.  Happy Friday!

double dose of camo

{sneaker wedge: Marc by Marc Jacobs; jacket: Nasty Gal; jeans: GAP;
sweatshirt: Zoe Karssen (sold out); tee: Banana Republic (old);
bracelet: BCBG; sunglasses: MBMJ (old)}

Ok, the last couple of days have been really cold and I just can't take it anymore.  Today there was a tiny glimpse of spring weather again.  I refuse to put winter boots back on... but it's definitely still too cold for flats.  So these Marc by Marc Jacobs sneaker wedges are perfect.  (By the way, I am obsessed with these neon pink ones!)  I am, however, putting my new GAP white jeans into rotation now.  I just can't wait for you any longer, spring.

current obsession: shift minidress

{Marc by Marc Jacobs Bowery Dress: neimanmarcus.com}

This dress is perfection!  Obsessed with the colour, obsessed with the pleats across the chest, obsessed with the collar, love the sleeves, love the length (I'm petite so because it's a minidress I won't have to hem it and it won't be too short and I'll be able to wear it everywhere!).  Sigh.  Now I'll just sit here and daydream about wearing this dress... while it continues to snow here.

florals + stripes

{blazer: Joie (sold out, but love this one); top: RW&CO. (old); boyfriend jeans: GAP;
bag: RED Valentino; necklace: Dior (vintage); booties: MICHAEL Michael Kors;
sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old); nails: Sephora by O.P.I 'Havana Nights'}

It's been a trend for a while, but I'm loving everything and anything floral, especially mixed with stripes.  (Stripes are also a huge trend (aren't they always?), so it's easy to find some great pieces out there.)  I've been picking up everything floral, from these J.Crew "Liberty Chino" shorts, to this Madewell tee (which has the best of both worlds!), to this beautiful vintage Dior necklace.  This weather can't make up it's mind whether it wants to be spring or still winter, so wearing florals is the closest I think I'm going to get to spring.
