#OOTD / blushing beauty

blushing beauty

Today's #OOTD was inspired by Easter.  Blush is such a pretty colour.  You might only pick one of these pieces but I LOVE a monochrome look.  When you do monochrome, you can look really put together, or look like a hot mess.  I don't think you can really do wrong with blush though.  This floral dress is perfect for spring and would be great for Easter.  It's a dress so obviously appropriate for the occasion, but it looks like it would be very comfortable to wear all day.  This BlankNYC jacket is SO pretty (it's under $100!), but it's already heating up in the South so I don't think I'd get much use out of a jacket.  (I'm also obsessing over this AllSaints one, this one and this one is also super pretty.)  I'm more of a cardigan / kimono kind of girl.  I'll be living in this Free People cardigan that I bought last year, which is now on sale!  I'm also obsessing over these mules.  There are so many great mules out there, I'm having a hard time deciding on one pair.  These might be it.

Hope everyone has a great weekend / Easter!  We'll be spending it with my cousin and her family who are coming to visit.

lucky lace up

  {Free People Lucky Lace Up Top (comes in 11 colours!);
jeans: Free People (sold out, love these super flare ones and these);
hat: Urban Outfitters (similar here);
sunglasses: Prada}

Lace up tops are a big trend for spring so they're everywhere and I wanted to make sure I picked the right one.  I'm so happy I ordered this one because it is ah-mazing!  I went with black which is not my go-to but you need to go braless (or you could wear these if going for a lighter colour) and I felt most comfortable with black.  It's super soft and feels as cozy as your basic tee, but has the amazing lace up details.  I was going to pair this top with a button-up skirt, but it was a bit cooler so I went with my favourite Free People flares.

Thanks for stopping by!

ruffled tee & pink bandits

necklace: Coach (old);
Talula Pelham Hat;
gladiator sandals: ZARA (similar here); sunglasses: Prada}

Happy first day of spring!  Friday was a gorgeous day, followed by another gorgeous day on Saturday, with cool, rainy weather for the first day of Spring today (boo).  Not that I can complain too much.  I'm just hoping it's not rainy for when my cousin visits and we go to Disney.  I'm so excited to see what it looks like in Disney.  It's looking so beautiful in Myrtle Beach with all of the flowers blooming.  We saw these flowers and of course had to stop to take pictures.  Great timing with the weather and I was able to wear these pink bandits which I'm obsessed with.  (I always seem to reach for pink when spring is in the air - see last year's post here.)  I'm also obsessed with this white tee from Anthropologie, a tee I feel I've been looking for my whole life.  It's not super fitted and even has ruffles which adds a special touch.  This will basically be my summer uniform.

#OOTD / denim on denim

A late post today because I've been having issues importing from Polyvore, so I'm doing it the old school way.  Today's #OOTD is one of my favourite combos: denim on denim.  I'm obsessing over all of the off-the-shoulder pieces and I love a good pair of wide leg jeans.  With denim on denim, I always like to take advantage of the fact that you can wear anything with denim and add a pop of colour.  I love these red Dolce Vita sandals (they also come in black).

Happy shopping!

weekend getaway / travel essentials

March Break is coming up and we're heading to Disney World!  My cousin is coming down with her family and they've never been so it's going to be extra special.  I hear that Panama City Beach and Cancun are some other hot destinations this year!  Planning a trip?  I've teamed up with HomeAway to provide you with my top 5 travel essentials for a weekend getaway:

1) A hat. Sunscreen is most important for a day at the beach or sightseeing, but I think a hat is great added protection.  Plus, they're so cute!  I love the ones with sayings on them, like the Eugenia Kim and Kate Spade ones below.
2) A bathing suit.  I prefer a one-piece.  You can go sexy (with cutouts) or sweet (with a bow).
3) Round towels are a big trend now.  They give you more room than the standard towel.
4) Wedge sandals.  Havaianas are a must-have for the beach, but I like to bring a pair of wedge sandals since they're more comfortable than a heel.  I usually can walk all day in a wedge sandal.  I like to pack light so I pick a pair that'll go with all of my outfits.  These Schutz lace up ones will do just that.  Or go bold with colour with these Stuart Weitzman ones (they also come in black).
5) A dress for a night out.  I prefer a maxi dress, something flowy and comfortable (and ideally off-the-shoulder!).

Happy shopping and happy travels!

frayed, denim & off the shoulder

booties: Steve Madden (love these w/ fringe!, similar here);

Well, that escalated quickly.  It was chilly last weekend (my 'Sage' post was shot on Sunday), but Monday was really warm and the temps just kept going up!  This past weekend was gorgeous and we spent it at the beach.  My crazy kids even went in the ocean.  As much as it drives me crazy that it got so hot because I bought some long-sleeved tops I was excited to wear, I was also eagerly waiting to wear this off-the-shoulder top.  As soon as I saw it on the Pixie Market site, I immediately ordered it.  I knew I would be buying a few off-the-shoulder tops because they're everywhere right now and I've always loved strapless / cold shoulder / off the shoulder tops, this one was just so unique to me.  Frayed, denim... yes.  We went out to dinner Friday night (Gordon Biersch, again, for the Legendary Garlic Fries to reward myself because I ate really healthy for a whole 3 days), so I paired it with white denim to dress it up a little and my new Rebecca Minkoff bag, which I think is such a pretty colour and the perfect size for evenings.

You can shop my other favourite off-the-shoulder tops below.  Hope everyone has a great week!

#OOTD / clogs

all about the clogs

I am dying over these Casadei clogs (also avail in green and black).  They're not the clunky clogs we (or at least I) grew up with.  They're definitely a splurge, which is why I paired them with $60 jeans (I bought these GAP crop kick jeans in this colour and they are amazing) and a $50 bag from ZARA.  I go by the rule that you take the item you buy and divide it by the number of times you wear them and that is the actual price you paid for them.  So if you wear these clogs at least 10 times, they're actually only $59.50!  That's a deal, if you ask me.  Sometimes all you need is a great pair of shoes or bag to revive your wardrobe.  I paired everything with a breezy Free People top, a style I will be stocking up on for spring.  Are you a fan of clogs?  I also love these, these and these, which are budget-friendlier (and these Prada ones are on sale but only a couple of sizes left!).

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  As always, happy shopping!
