friday find: stardust rancher

Lack of Color Stardust Rancher

Happy Friday!  I love Lack of Color hats.  Once I discovered their hats, I rarely shop anywhere else.  The main reason why I love their hats is because of the quality and unique styles, but also because they come in different sizes, as opposed to a lot of brands that only carry a one-size-fits-all, which does not work for my small head.  I lived in my Lack of Color Spencer Boater for probably the entire time I lived in Myrtle Beach (2 years), but since I've discovered their 'Rancher' style, it's pretty much the only one I reach for.  I own the Noir Rancher and the Zulu Rancher, as seen on pretty much every blog post for the past few years.

If you've been reading my blog, you know how much I love pink.  So when I saw Lack of Color drop a collection that included this Rose Rancher, it took everything in me not to purchase it.  Rose is not a colour that suits me.  (Yet you'll probably still see me occasionally wearing it on the blog because sometimes I can't resist.)  But my dreams came true when Lack of Color dropped their newest collection, which included the beautiful, pastel pink Stardust Rancher.

It arrived the other day and I cannot wait to share it on the blog!

Happy (hat) shopping!

corduroy

I have always loved corduroy.  I remember back in college owning a pair of brown, flared, corduroy pants that I wore all the time.  Since it's quite warm here, but I've been wanting to dress for fall, these Free People corduroy shorts strike a happy balance.  I can wear them now (with a tee and lightweight sweater, as worn above) and later (with a chunky knit sweater - I love this Line + Dot Fringe Cable Knit Sweater, which I wore on the blog here, which now comes in brown!).  These Free People corduroy shorts also come in white, which I'm considering purchasing because I love wearing white in the A/W, especially from head to toe.  I first paired these cord shorts with a black Free People tee a couple of weeks ago, but I really love them paired with this orange Free People sweater.  Just in time for Halloween!

Other corduroy pieces I'm eyeing for fall are these Free People cord trousers (available in 5 colours!), these Free People overalls (available in 4 colours!), these Free People coveralls, this Free People cord jumper (I love the moss colour), this Free People cord mini skirt (I'm coveting the one in cream) and these Rolla's East Coast Cord Flare Pants (available in 5 colours!).  These, unfortunately, would be too long on me, but how amazing are these Free People embroidered cord jeans?  I love, love, love the light blue colour of these ZARA High Waist Corduroy Pants.  And how gorgeous is this ZARA Animal Print Corduroy Dress?  If an animal print dress is too much, it also comes in a mini skirt!  Another great corduroy dress is this Free People Call Me Cord Mini Dress (I love the puff sleeve!).  A pretty pink corduroy jumpsuit by LoveShackFancy?  Yes, please!  I also love this pink Topshop corduroy babydoll minidress (I'm a sucker for a balloon sleeve!).  These HUE corduroy leggings look super comfortable (available in 4 colours!).  I'm obsessing over this byTiMo Floral Ditsy Corduroy Mini Dress.

My love for corduroy doesn't end with clothing.  I love the pretty pale colours of this Free People Cord Lieutenant Cap and this blue Brixton Ashland Corduroy Cap.  I wore a corduroy cap by Lack of Color on the blog here!  I also love this pink Lele Sadoughi Corduroy Knotted Headband.

Happy (corduroy) shopping!

pretty pineapple dress

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  It was really hot this weekend so we headed to the beach!  I wore this Free People Pretty Pineapple Dress.  This dress comes in 4 colours, but I was drawn
to this pretty purple!  I love the floral embroidery.  This dress works best as a beach coverup because of the low-cut style, but I'm also excited to pair it with a pretty bralette and a pair of boots for fall!  (I love the FP One Adella Bralette from Free People.  I highly recommend it and this is coming from someone who hates wearing bras.  It's available in 17 different colours!).  For a day at the beach, I used the roll tab closures to keep the sleeves up, but I love the option of leaving them down.  If the weather is really cool, you could add a cardigan and a pair of tights.  I have not tried it with this dress, but a great trick I used to use in Canada is to pair a summer dress with a thin turtleneck (cream or ivory for light-coloured dresses and black for darker coloured dresses) underneath for added warmth!

Happy shopping!

friday find: Free People boots

Happy Friday!  Summer shoes can be really pretty, but nothing beats a great boot when it comes to shoes IMO.  I've been coveting a few pairs at Free People.  At the top of my list are these beautiful western-inspired boots.  They come in 3 colours, but I'm eyeing the brown ones.  I would pair them with skinny jeans and a chunky knit sweater, or a babydoll dress.

The 'sky' colour of these Wesley Ankle Boots is so pretty!  Ever since I purchased my blue tulle skirt, I've been purchasing a lot of blues.  These boots come in 4 other colours!  I'm also loving them in white.

My favorite colour is pink so, of course, I'm coveting these 'rose quartz' slouch boots!  They come in 2 other colours.  I have a few pink dresses in my closet I would pair them with!  I would also pair them with a pair of skinny jeans and a white knit sweater.

I love an over-the-knee ('OTK') boot.  My all-time favourite OTK boots are the Lowland Boots from Stuart Weitzman, but at $278, these Free People ones are more budget-friendly.  I love the 'natural' ones shown above, but these also come in 2 other colours.

I love anything embroidered so when I saw these, I immediately fell in love!

Happy (boot) shopping!

all of the pretty sweaters

LoveShackFancy Ryland Sweater (sold out, found it here, cropped cardigan version here)

I love fall fashion and cozy sweaters are my jam, but it's still 80 degrees in Florida so I've had to limit my sweater shopping, which has been difficult because there are SO many gorgeous ones out there!  (I try to stick to cotton or acrylic ones, instead of ones with wool, until the temps really drop.)  This LoveShackFancy Ryland Sweater sold out immediately, but you can get back-in-stock notifications and I found a couple sizes left at Farfetch (links above).  I'm not surprised it sold out... the cotton candy colours, the balloon sleeves and the mixed star details.  Since it's still quite warm here, I paired the pretty pink and purple sweater with a pair of white eyelet shorts.

I've come across so many pretty sweaters.  I'm a sucker for anything with a pretty ruffle, embroidery and/or a balloon sleeve.  Below are some pretty sweaters that are at the top of my list:

ZARA has too many beautiful ones to choose from:

ZARA Oversized Wool Blend Cardigan (baby blue! balloon sleeves!)

tulle skirt

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  We went to our 'spot' where the kids ride their rollerblades/scooters on Friday night and I wore this gorgeous tulle skirt from Anthropologie.  I have wanted a tulle skirt for years but have never purchased one because I was nervous about looking too childish because I'm so petite, but also just that they're too fancy.  But when I came across this beautiful tulle skirt on the Anthropologie site, I was immediately drawn in by the beautiful sky blue colour (and the fact that it was a 'midi' skirt) and could not resist ordering it.  (It also comes in a rose colour.)  The void of never owning a tulle skirt has been filled.  As soon as I tried it on, I fell in love!  I originally had planned on pairing this skirt with a pair of black ankle boots (I purchased these Dolce Vita Chelsea Boots, which are so comfortable!), but I decided to throw on my white Vans since we weren't really going anywhere.  Plus, it's still quite hot here in Florida.

I love this skirt so much that I've already been thinking of other ways to wear it.  I paired it with a beige lightweight knit top, but I also think this skirt will look great with other blues like this navy sweater from ASOS, this baby blue Free People Cashmere Pullover and this light blue ZARA Mock Neck Knit Sweater.  I'm also thinking of pairing it with a simple white tee and this blue ZARA Oversized Wool Blend Cardigan, which I ordered (love the balloon sleeves!).  For when it's chilly, I'm thinking of pairing it with a simple gray knit turtleneck sweater (or the Free People Cashmere Pullover, mentioned above, which also comes in gray.)  Wearing a simple black knit sweater, paired with black ankle boots, will make the skirt pop.  I'm also thinking it will look great dressed up for the holidays with this MINKPINK Ruffle Knit Sweater.  The options are endless!

Now that I got a taste of tulle, I want more!  Here are some other tulle skirts I'm coveting:

Lace & Beads Tulle Midi Skirt (a simple white one)

smocked spearmint

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  It's been hot and humid again here and will be for the rest of the week.  It's about 10 degrees cooler back in Greenville, SC so I'm used to it cooling down a bit around this time.  It's mid-October and it's still in the mid-80s here in Florida.  As much as I've been wanting fall weather, I've started to embrace the heat.  I took the kids to the beach after school one day last week and it put it all into perspective for me.  I've also been finding some fall pieces that I can still wear in this heat so it's the best of both worlds.

With this heat, I'm getting good use out of my summer clothes, a lot I have yet to share on the blog.  Time has flown!  I love this Faithfull the Brand Lenora Top that I purchased from Revolve earlier this summer.  It also comes in pink, apricot and a fun floral print (the latter two being on sale at Shopbop!).  The floral print also comes in a matching pair of shorts (also on sale!).  Although I usually gravitate towards pink, the 'spearmint' is such a refreshing pop of colour.  I love the puff sleeves, which are a bit different than the usual puff sleeve because of the elastic smocking which creates a little ruffle at the bottom of the sleeves.  I also love the little ruffle detail at the bottom of the top.  I paired the cropped top with my go-to AGOLDE Parker Vintage Cut Off Shorts (which I ordered in two sizes because, you know, quarantine) and my pink Gucci GG Marmont Super Mini Bag because I love mixing pastels.  I originally threw on my white Vans, but decided to change into these delicate Schutz Aimi Sandals, which are currently on sale for $46 at Shopbop!

one piece

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  It's been less humid here, which has been really, really nice!  It rained pretty much all of yesterday, but on Saturday we spent a lot of time outside.  We found a huge, empty parking lot where the kids could ride their bikes.  I wore this Free People Marina One Piece.  I mentioned before that I'm looking for comfy pieces that I can wear around the house in case I get caught in the background of my daughter's zoom conferences.  So when I came across this one piece on the Free People site, I had to order it.  The problem now is that I'll want to wear it every day, ha!

It was pretty windy out so unfortunately it was hard to capture this one piece without looking like a balloon.  But I wanted to share it with you because it's selling out quickly, especially the black one, which I also ordered because I love it so much.  (I would keep an eye out for returns!)  I paired the one piece with my Valentino Rockstud Platform Sandals and once it cools down even more, I'll be pairing it with a pair of booties and a cardigan.  I'll be sharing that outfit on the blog in the weeks to come!

This Free People one piece also looks super comfy and comes in 4 colours!

Happy shopping!
