Free People Colorado Springs Boot

Happy Friday!  Summer shoes can be really pretty, but nothing beats a great boot when it comes to shoes IMO.  I've been coveting a few pairs at Free People.  At the top of my list are these beautiful western-inspired boots.  They come in 3 colours, but I'm eyeing the brown ones.  I would pair them with skinny jeans and a chunky knit sweater, or a babydoll dress.

The 'sky' colour of these Wesley Ankle Boots is so pretty!  Ever since I purchased my blue tulle skirt, I've been purchasing a lot of blues.  These boots come in 4 other colours!  I'm also loving them in white.

Free People Sway Low Slouch Boots

My favorite colour is pink so, of course, I'm coveting these 'rose quartz' slouch boots!  They come in 2 other colours.  I have a few pink dresses in my closet I would pair them with!  I would also pair them with a pair of skinny jeans and a white knit sweater.

I love an over-the-knee ('OTK') boot.  My all-time favourite OTK boots are the Lowland Boots from Stuart Weitzman, but at $278, these Free People ones are more budget-friendly.  I love the 'natural' ones shown above, but these also come in 2 other colours.

I love anything embroidered so when I saw these, I immediately fell in love!

seeing stars

Seeing stars, everywhere.  You can either go small and subtle (my pick are these AH-mazing Saint Laurent Rock Suede & Leather Boots, top, or this Marc Jacobs Star Patchwork Small Saddle Bag, which also comes in white), or even smaller with a clutch, choker or ring.  Or go big and bold (I've been eyeing this Wildfox Lennon Seeing Stars Sweater, bottom left, forever now and this Free People Lone Star Denim Jacket has a big star patch on the back!)  These Stella McCartney Star Print Skinny Jeans (middle, also in a boyfriend jean here and kick jean here) have stars allover, but you can even go bolder with these After Party by Nasty Gal Star-Crossed High Waisted Jeans (top left).  Next on my list are a pair of Golden Goose Mid Star Sneakers.  They look SO comfy!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!  We spent it at home and are now at the in-laws in the country a few hours east (brr).  As much as I hate the cold, I am sad that we didn't have a white Christmas.  I am happy though that I've avoided wearing a puffer coat and it's almost January.  I even got away with wearing a t-shirt recently (see last post).  But it's puffer weather here (although beautiful) and today I wore my Christmas sweater since I never got a chance to wear it.  But even though it's the beginning of winter, it's almost the beginning of a new year, which means it's almost spring.  And our countdown to Mexico, which I booked a couple of days ago, just in case winter is not kind to us again.

I'm not going to pretend I know anything about punk, but what I do know is that I'm obsessed with these plaid jeans.  I wanted the perfect pair of plaid pants and I don't remember how I came across these, but I'm so glad I did.  They're exclusive to net-a-porter.com so I knew I needed to snatch them up and I see now that they are quickly selling out.  Plaid is a huge trend this fall and I'm all over it.  For work, I'd pair these pants with a blouse, but I instantly knew this tee with faux leather sleeves would be the perfect match.  I'm currently eyeing so many other plaid pieces that I'm trying to contain myself, but there's something about the print I have always loved.  So the fact that there are amazing pieces everywhere (pumps!), I can't help from wanting them all.

p.s. I just bought these MICHAEL Michael Kors ankle boots at a Michael Kors store and they are so comfortable.  I can't seem to find them online, but I also like these with the studded heels.
