falling for . . . leopard bags

{tee, bracelets: H&M (old); skirt: Wilfred (similar here, love this one);
bag: Topshop; MICHAEL Michael Kors Salem Bootie (leather only here); sunglasses: Prada}

So today I'm doing a post of what I wore on Monday, which included a white tee, (faux) leather skirt and booties, which felt silly because it was so hot.  But, of course, it's already chilly today so this post actually makes sense.  The weather has been all over the place the past couple of weeks, it's hard to figure out what to wear.  But this summer weather sucked so I just want to move forward with fall.  I'm so ready for cozy sweaters.  I was also on the hunt for a new fall bag.  I did not expect to be buying a leopard print bag, but I immediately fell in love with this little bag at Topshop.  It's on the smaller side so the print is not overwhelming, which will make it easier to mix prints, i.e., florals, polka dots, etc.

falling for . . . grey

{Wilfred Zadkine T-Shirt; jeans: Paige Denim (bought last fall, love these and these);
hat, bracelet: BCBG (in-store); shoes: ZARA; necklace: Juicy Couture; sunglasses: Prada}

Yesterday was extremely hot.  Of course I was wearing pants.  I hardly ever wear pants!  I live for skirts and dresses and on the hottest day this summer (yes, sadly, yesterday was probably the hottest day we have had) and I wore pants.  Black pants.  I'm in fall mode now and it's hard to get me back.  Sorry, Summer, but I'm over you.  Anyway, last week was cool and it was perfect for this cozy grey tee.  I picked up quite a few Wilfred pieces this fall.  They have great basics.  I picked up a similar black one.  Staples you always need in your closet.  They can be worn alone (or perfect for layering underneath a blazer), or worn with a blouse underneath when it really starts to cool down.  I love grey for fall.  It's one of my favourite neutrals because you never look like you're trying too hard with grey. Black (or white) sometimes looks too harsh.  I'm especially a fan of grey on grey.

swing

Free People Retro Print Swing TunicMICHAEL Michael Kors Salem Bootie (leather only here);
hat: Juicy Couture (old, love this one); rings: Gorjana; sunglasses: Prada}

First, I apologize for the abundance of photos today but I'm just obsessed with this tunic.  It was quite windy yesterday so this tunic was flying all over the place, which made it super fun to shoot.  I went shopping so I wore this tunic without the fedora (see here) because it's all sorts of dramatic on its own, but I'm in fall mode now so all I think about are fedoras.  I think they just add the perfect finishing touch to an outfit and I so happened to have a purple one that I bought at Juicy Couture last fall that brought out the purple in this tunic.  My other obsession: these booties.  I was looking for the perfect bootie that had a low heel and these are all that and more.  I love the leather and suede combination and the silver buckle and detail at the back.  Fall, I'm ready for you.

sweet

{skirt (similar here and this one is so pretty), top: ZARA; blazer: Joie;

Summer is back!  It was starting to get really chilly and I was worried for a minute, but the last couple of days have been really warm.  I was ready for fall though because I'm pretty much done my fall shopping (already, I know - but fall clothes are my favourite!).  But I'm happy that we're getting some more warm weather because it really does feel like winter just ended.  I bought this pretty ZARA blouse thinking I was going to pair it with jeans, but I love skirts and definitely wanted to take advantage of the warmth so I paired it with this pretty ZARA skirt I bought this past winter.  The morning was a bit gloomy and cool so I threw on this floral blazer and ended up with a really girly outfit.  Plus, I love wearing bright colours when it's miserable out.  But the sun came out in the evening and it turned out to be a beautiful night.

sheer genius

{shirt w/ bralette: Marciano; jeans: GAP; shoes: GUESS (similar here); bracelet: BCBG;
bag: Rebecca Minkoff (similar here); sunglasses: Prada}

I was looking for a black blouse recently and came across this sheer one at Marciano.  I love it because it's a 2-in-1 piece, which means you get at least 2 outfits out of it and in my world that basically means you paid half of the price.  You can wear this top as-is with the bralette it comes with, say for a night out, or you can swap the bralette and wear it with a work-appropriate camisole underneath.  I also love that you can even wear the bralette on its own, say with something high-waisted.  So technically that's 3 outfits.  It's a win-win-win!

falling for . . . rompers

{romper: BCBG (love this and this one); sandals: ZARA (old, love these);
hat: Urban Outfitters; necklace: Juicy Couture (old); sunglasses: Prada}

I've been living in rompers all summer.  They're so easy to throw on and comfortable to wear.  I love this BCBG one I bought last summer because it has long sleeves, which is perfect for late August weather when you're not sure what to wear because it's cool in the mornings and warmer in the afternoons.  They transition great into fall with some sandal booties and a hat.  I love this hat I ordered from Urban Outfitters.  I just cut my bangs and I was wondering how my new hats would work, but this one sits back further on your head so it doesn't affect my bangs.  (Only problem was that it was a bit windy yesterday.)

sweater weather

So I guess fall is here.  It's been freezing in Toronto the past couple of days.  Luckily I got a head start on my fall shopping (which felt silly a week or so ago).  It's supposed to warm up and I sure hope it does because, even though I did some fall shopping, I am not mentally prepared for this cold weather.  If it was September, sure, but it's only August 15!  I am excited to wear fall clothes, however.  Sweaters, boots, etc.  I am obsessed with this cardigan from Aritzia.  At first I hesitated because of the price (since I have already blown my fall budget), but it's a versatile piece.  I always look at the price of an item and divide it by the amount of times I will wear it and that's the actual cost of the item.  So if I wear this sweater once a week for the next four months, this sweater actually cost me $10.  In that case, this sweater is quite cheap!  The quality, however, is not cheap.  It is 100% wool and is super cozy.  You will not regret buying this sweater.
