smocked spearmint

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  It's been hot and humid again here and will be for the rest of the week.  It's about 10 degrees cooler back in Greenville, SC so I'm used to it cooling down a bit around this time.  It's mid-October and it's still in the mid-80s here in Florida.  As much as I've been wanting fall weather, I've started to embrace the heat.  I took the kids to the beach after school one day last week and it put it all into perspective for me.  I've also been finding some fall pieces that I can still wear in this heat so it's the best of both worlds.

With this heat, I'm getting good use out of my summer clothes, a lot I have yet to share on the blog.  Time has flown!  I love this Faithfull the Brand Lenora Top that I purchased from Revolve earlier this summer.  It also comes in pink, apricot and a fun floral print (the latter two being on sale at Shopbop!).  The floral print also comes in a matching pair of shorts (also on sale!).  Although I usually gravitate towards pink, the 'spearmint' is such a refreshing pop of colour.  I love the puff sleeves, which are a bit different than the usual puff sleeve because of the elastic smocking which creates a little ruffle at the bottom of the sleeves.  I also love the little ruffle detail at the bottom of the top.  I paired the cropped top with my go-to AGOLDE Parker Vintage Cut Off Shorts (which I ordered in two sizes because, you know, quarantine) and my pink Gucci GG Marmont Super Mini Bag because I love mixing pastels.  I originally threw on my white Vans, but decided to change into these delicate Schutz Aimi Sandals, which are currently on sale for $46 at Shopbop!

miss piggy & pink gucci

ZARA Miss Piggy Disney T-Shirt TRF (sold out online)

Since moving to Florida, I've had to run a lot of errands and realized I was in need of some casual t-shirts.  Clearly being home for the most part since March, I have worn out most of my t-shirts.  I normally head to Free People for casual tees, but during our move I rediscovered a ZARA t-shirt I had in my closet that I had forgotten about and headed to their site.  I picked up several tees, including this cute Miss Piggy tee, which of course sold out while I was writing out this blog post.  It doesn't surprise me.  I mean, who doesn't love Miss Piggy?  (I'm also loving this Hello Kitty tee and this Back to the Future tee!)  I paired the cute tee with AGOLDE high-waisted denim cutoffs and my go-tos (Vans, Lack of Color hat).

A new addition to my closet is this adorable pink Gucci GG Marmont Super Mini Bag.  I don't even recall how I came across it because I rarely purchase designer bags because I prefer to purchase clothes, but as soon as I saw it I instantly fell in love.  I'm a petite person so I love mini bags.  The problem was, I couldn't decide which one to get!  My favourite colour is pink so it seemed obvious that I would choose pink, but the more I researched the bag, the more complicated things got.  I came across this multicoloured pastel version and was thisclose to purchasing it instead.  But since it's obviously not a cheap purchase, I thought pink was the more practical purchase.  I then started debating between which style to get.  I love the shape of this mini bag, but I also love the bucket bag.  In the end, I went with the first bag I laid my eyes on and I'm so happy I did.

Chained bags are a big trend for fall 2020.  I found some cute, more budget-friendly chain bags below!

House of Want faux leather bag (under $100!)
Marc Jacobs The Hot Shot crossbody bag
Sancia The Louane Chain Bag (love the colour for fall!)
Marc Jacobs The Mini Cushion Bag
Free People Diego Chain Shoulder Bag (under $100!)
Tory Burch Robinson Leather Wallet On a Chain (comes in 5 colours!)
ZARA Quilted Maxi Crossbody Bag (love a denim bag, also comes in black)

#OOTD / blushing

#OOTD / blushing

Happy Friday!  It's been a lazy week this week with my hubby being away and the on and off rainy weather we've been getting.  So what better way to end the week with a head-to-toe pink outfit.  This #OOTD combines two things I love most when it comes to fashion: pink and monochrome.  I am obsessing over these Milly Trapunto Trousers!  (I also love these pink pants from ASOS and these Joe's Flawless Icon Ankle Skinny Jeans.)  This Topshop Oversize Turtleneck Sweater would go perfectly with these pants.  It looks SO cozy.  A cream turtleneck sweater would be my next choice.  Camel also looks great with pink.  J.Crew is currently having a great sale on sweaters.  I love this camel and pink cashmere turtleneck.  I also love this camel wool turtleneck sweater.  It also comes in burgundy and I love burgundy paired with pink.  Because I'm petite, I would most likely pair these wide-leg pants with heels, but my ideal shoe to continue the ease of this outfit would be to pair them with a pair of pink flats and, of course, adding a pink bag.

off shoulder gingham

The shot, above, was taken before we headed out for my birthday, but we ran out of time and only had a few pictures so we reshot the look.

 {MLM LABEL Maison Off Shoulder Top (this colour sold out, also love this pink gingham dress);
Tularosa Shorts (similar here);
Rebecca Minkoff Mini Suki Cross Body Bag (this colour sold out, also here in lilac);

Last week I wrote about my favourite top ever.  This gingham top easily takes second place.  Unfortunately this colour is already sold out!  But I linked the black/white version and the dress version in pink, which is adorable.  I was looking for a special piece for my birthday and this top is definitely special.  I love the oversized fit (we went to a pirate show and had a 4 course meal and I was able to pig out and not worry about being uncomfortable).  I'm obsessing over off-the-shoulder tops but this one sold me because I have a slight obsession with gingham, the ruffled overlay is so pretty and of course the colour is gorgeous.  This gingham top is fun and easy breezy which is what I look for to wear in this heat.  I wanted to pair this top with my kick flare jeans, but since it was too hot I paired it with my favourite Tularosa shorts which are equally as comfortable.  (They're also the only shorts where the top didn't fully cover them.)  I'm obsessed with these booties and wear them any chance I get, but I also love that they're matchy-matchy but not too matchy.

Update: I found this colour on MLM's site (see here)! (Last time I checked they didn't have it.)

colourful romper

 All of the pretty colours.  Love the tie closure!

     {Show Me Your Mumu Nantucket Romper;
Coach Bracelet (old);
Rebecca Minkoff Mini Suki Cross Body Bag (colour sold out, avail in pale blush, lilac);
Prada Sunglasses}

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  It was a hot one yesterday.  Almost too hot to wear anything other than a bikini.  Summer to me is all about colour.  I fell in love with this romper because it's SO colourful and since I love colour so much I paired it with a pink bag, bracelet and nails!  I also paired it with my new favourite hat.  It was sold out on Revolve but now available for pre-order!  It's a great beach hat because of the size.  This choker necklace has been on repeat too.  I've now styled it a third way (see here and here for other ways I've worn it).  This time I triple-wrapped it around my neck and tied it into a bow.  It was sold out too, but it's also now available for pre-order on Revolve!

#OOTD / spring essentials

#OOTD: spring essentials

Happy Friday!  Today's #OOTD features spring essentials: a denim jacket (I'm loving the oversized fit), a striped tee, light wash jeans, white sneakers and a saddle bag.  A touch of floral adds a pop.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

minty fresh (parts 1 and 2)

{blouse, sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old); jeans: GAP; boots: Sam Edelman (also here);
necklace: Coach (old); 'sweet' affirmation bracelet: BCBGeneration (also here)}

{denim shirt: Marc by Marc Jacobs; jeans: GAP; boots: Sam Edelman (also here); bag: RED Valentino;
bracelets: J.Crew (here and here); sunglasses: Madewell; nails: Covergirl 'lav-endure'}

I am obsessed with these GAP mint skinny jeans.  First I thought of pairing them with this beautiful Marc by Marc Jacobs eyelet blouse I bought years ago for a monochromatic look, which I'm really into these days.  Then a couple of weeks later, I paired it with my favourite Marc by Marc Jacobs denim shirt.  I saw these adorable mint hepcat shades and thought they would go great with these mint jeans.  And, of course, added some pops of pink.
