pastel knit set

Happy Saturday!  Just a quick post to share this pretty Show Me Your Mumu set!  The knit sweater and knit shorts are sold separately, but I actually prefer that because I like to go up a size in shorts I plan to lounge around in.  I'll be living in this set.  It'll be perfect for those breezy beach days and evenings too!  I'll also be pairing this oversized sweater with denim cutoffs and these shorts with a cropped tee.

I'm also loving this Show Me Your Mumu matching tie dye boyfriend sweatshirt and girlfriend shorts set!  I've also been eyeing this matching fuzzy cardigan and fuzzy shorts set at Anthropologie, which looks so cozy.

Happy (set) shopping!

birthday dress / floral summer dress

Happy first day of Summer!  Summer is my favourite season.  I love the heat, which is why we moved from Canada to South Carolina.  Fall is a close second, but mostly when it comes to fashion, and summer being here just means fall is close by.  Unfortunately, fall doesn't start here until November or so, but I'm not complaining... that's usually when the fall sales start.  Summer fashion isn't usually as exciting, but then LoveShackFancy dropped a line for Target a couple of weeks ago!  I stayed up until 3 am, which was worth it because I was able to score 3 beautiful dresses.  (Unfortunately I think the entire line sold out, but I'd keep checking for returns or your local store!)

Last weekend I 'celebrated' my birthday.  I put that in quotes because we didn't really do anything because I'm still too nervous to eat out.  Even though we didn't go anywhere, I wanted to dress up so I put on this LoveShackFancy for Target tiered dress and it definitely felt like a special occasion.  This dress is SO pretty!  The tiered style makes you want to twirl around in it.  I love a floral print and I love the colorblocking.  It's so comfortable too.  The best part?  It was $40!

If you missed out and are still looking for a summer dress, I found some other floral dresses for under $100:

Free People Take Me With You Ruffle Dress, $98
Free People Don't Dare Mixed Print Slip, $78
ASOS Design Midi Dress with Cut Out Back and Tie Waist, $60

I've been loving the tie dye trend and seeing such pretty pieces everywhere, but I instantly fell in love with this LoveShackFancy Ruffle Mini Skirt, which is sadly sold out everywhere. But I wanted to share the other tie dye pieces I've been eyeing:

Juliet Dunn Tie Dye Shoulder Cover Up Dress
LoveShackFancy Stanton Dress
Faithfull The Brand Vionette Tie-Front Mini Dress
Eri + Ali Ruffled Eyelet Pullover

Hope everyone had a nice Easter under the circumstances.  This post of things I'm currently coveting has a very Easter vibe being that everything is pastel-coloured.  I love pastels for spring.  Actually, I love pastels any time of year.  The Free People Full Swing Mini Dress is so pretty and looks SO comfy.  I imagine just throwing it on to go grocery shopping, or out to dinner.  The Young, Fabulous & Broke Kyra Romper and the Juliet Dunn Tie Dye Shoulder Cover Up Dress would be perfect for a day at the beach, which is what I can't wait to get back to the most.

My cousin was planning a wedding for July that she sadly now has to cancel.  I was picturing wearing the LoveShackFancy Stanton Dress or the Lover + Friends Sunset Mini Dress.  We have a family picnic every year at the end of the summer so, if we're still lucky enough to have it, I might dress up more for it than I would normally.  I think the one thing about all of this is that people will not take for granted seeing and hanging out with their friends and family.  The second, wearing clothes other than pjs.

Happy coveting!

The Shopbop spring event is here!!  This event takes place every March where you can save up to 25% off everything (some exclusions apply) using code SPRING!  I'm eyeing everything from a new pair of sandals to a pretty blouse.  As you will probably notice, everything I've picked out is lightly coloured (if not white).  I'm loving all of the pastels and ruffles.  How pretty is the Free People Abigail Victorian Top?  It also comes in black, but I always gravitate toward anything other than black, especially for spring.  I own a pair of AGOLDE Parker Vintage Cutoff Shorts (as seen on the blog here) and they are my absolute favourite so I'm always excited to see a new colour.  A denim jacket is always a must for spring IMO.  I love the casual fit of the Free People Trucker Jacket.  It makes it easier to wear over anything from a sweater to a floral dress.  I think everyone should own a white knit sweater and a pair of white jeans.  I love pairing them together for a fresh look!  Add a pair of neutral booties, white sneakers, or a neutral (or pastel-coloured!) sandal.  Or add a pretty pastel-coloured bag for a pop of colour.  I'm obsessing over the The Marc Jacobs Crossbody Bag!

I'd love to hear what you scored at the Shopbop sale!  Comment below!

pretty pastels for fall

Tularosa Shorts (old, similar here for only $46!);

I don't think there's another brand that has prettier clothes than LoveShackFancy.  This sweater is SO pretty.  I love the pastel colours on the sleeves.  Every piece of their collection has a detail that just makes it ultra romantic and feminine.  I thought it was best to stay with the romantic theme and pair this pastel sweater with white lace shorts (also because it's been deathly hot here).  Of course this sweater would look great with a pair of jeans, although I would opt for a lighter wash.

I'm also loving this pastel sweater by Lovers + Friends and this pastel sweater by Free People, both more budget-friendlier.

Happy shopping!

perfect pastel pullover

{Free People Allure Pullover (also here in other colours);
Gorjana Necklace (this one is sold out, but I love their jewellery);
Urban Outfitters Fedora (similar here)}

I am obsessed with this Free People Allure Pullover.  It's the perfect sweater for spring because it's not too heavy (it's cotton), but not too light either (the slight oversized fit also makes it easy to layer with for added warmth).  I love pastels so I went with the lavender one, but this pullover comes in many colours and I want all of them - black, ivory, taupe, a jewel tone - so I would have all of my bases covered.  This pullover is perfectly slouchy and you can wear it off one shoulder.  Off-the-shoulder is still a big trend, but off-the-ONE-shoulder is even bigger this year.  What's even better about this pullover?  You can wear it backwards!

sage

sweater: Urban Outfitters (similar here on sale);
sunglasses: Prada}

I have been wanting a Pashli Mini for awhile.  It's perfect for every day.  It's not too small that you can't carry anything in it but it's not too large either.  I fell in love with this colour so I finally pulled the trigger since I was looking for a spring bag and I could not get this one out of my head!  I love that the colour is feminine so it'll look great with summer whites and dresses, but the zippers give it edge so you can dress it down.  I love this colour paired with navy, which is a great alternative to black and perfect for transitioning into spring (and looks great on brunettes!).

Check back later today when I'll be posting my Friday #OOTD!

lavender

{J.O.A. Lavender Lace Cami*; jeans: 7 For All Mankind; bracelets: J.Crew; shoes: Guess;
bag: Nila Anthony (bought at Mendocino, others avail. here); umbrella: Coach; sunglasses: Prada}

I went to dinner with my sister Friday night for a girls' night and unfortunately it was a pretty gloomy day/night.  But I was able to wear jeans!  This is the first time I have worn anything past the knees since we moved to Myrtle Beach.  It was a nice break from the shorts I have been wearing.  I have yet to buy a pair of white skinny jeans, so I pulled out my favourite 7 FAM skinnies.  You can never go wrong with a pair of 7s.  I have been waiting to wear this pretty cami for a while now.  I love the pretty, delicate details.  (It matched my umbrella, which thankfully we didn't really need after a few sprinkles while taking these pictures.)  We went to P.F. Chang's and the food was amazing!  We had the chicken lettuce wraps, a yummy lobster avocado roll along with a couple of other rolls and some chicken fried rice.  We already can't wait to go back to try other things on the menu.

p.s. We were SO bummed Magic Mike XXL wasn't playing at The Market Common!
