friday find: baggy trousers

Happy Friday!  Today we're saying good-bye to skinny jeans and hello to baggy trousers!  Since most of us have been living in joggers and loungewear for the past year and now with the hope of returning to 'normal' in the (hopefully) near future, the idea of skinny jeans can make one cringe.  Thankfully, baggy trousers are everywhere, making it easier to transition to wearing pants again.  This Free People Margate Pleated Trouser is available in 15 colours and under $100!  I love that this pleated trouser could be dressed up with a blouse and sandals, or dressed down with a tee and sneakers.

I purchased these Free People Make A Stand Trousers, which come in 5 colours, and are so comfortable.  I'm also loving this Boyish The Nico Pant, this h:ours Shaye Paperbag Cargo Pant and these Levi's Tailor High Loose Taper Pants, which are great neutral pants.  I'm also coveting this BLANKNYC Chambray Tapered Pant.  I love the colour of these MOTHER The Wrapper Patch Springy Ankle Pants and the pattern on these Eberjey Strata Solid Hudson Pants.

Speaking of saying good-bye to skinny jeans, I'm loving these AGOLDE 90s Mid Rise Loose Fit jeans, or this One Teaspoon Smiths Trouser Jean, which is on sale!  Since my favourite colour is pink, I'm coveting these One Teaspoon Dirty Pink Cargo Safari Relaxed Jeans.

friday find: bucket hats

RAHI Cali Lake Washed Bucket Hat (available in 4 colours!)

 Happy Friday!  Bucket hats are a really big trend for spring.  I'm partial to Lack of Color hats, but there are so many styles available in a variety of price ranges!  The RAHI Cali hat, above, is only $38 and is available at Free People.  The Lack of Color Holiday Bucket hat is $119, but are so pretty and definitely well-made and, IMO, worth every penny since I live in my Lack of Color hats.  I've shown my two favourite styles above, but they have many bucket hats to choose from, including a few on sale and even some styles for kids!  This Frankies Bikinis Jax Bucket Hat is $51 and is available in 11 colours!

Hope everyone has a nice Easter weekend!

Happy (bucket hat) shopping!

friday find: anthropologie spring sale

Happy Friday!  Anthropologie is having a big sale this weekend - 20% the entire site/store (with some exclusions)!  I scooped up this gorgeous Sachin & Babi embroidered blouse, above.  I love anything embroidered.  I also scooped up these embroidered shorts and these embroidered shorts in 'Blue Cloud'.  I own this embroidered maxi dress, which doesn't have the best reviews, but I really like it.  I'll be sharing it on the blog in the near future!  I'm also a sucker for a romper, so I scooped up this beautiful paisley-printed romper (I'm also a sucker for a balloon sleeve!).  I'm coveting these Farm Rio embroidered denim shorts I'm also eyeing these white Driftwood embroidered denim shorts and these Driftwood floral embroidered shorts

Anthropologie always has the most gorgeous pieces.  This ruffled lace blouse and this kimono are so pretty.  I'm obsessed with Farm Rio, but I had just ordered a couple of blouses, otherwise I'd be ordering this ruffled midi dress or this maxi dress (it's available in petite sizes!).  This Farm Rio Fruit Basket Pajama Set is adorable!  I'm loving these beaded sandals and these embroidered sandals.  I'm coveting these colorblocked sandals!  And how pretty are these sandals with blooming florals?  I love a colorful pair of jeans like these EDWIN Bree High-Rise Slim Straight Jeans in 'Canary'.

If you're looking for a spring jacket, this Priya Quilted Shirt Jacket is so pretty.  I'm also loving this camo utility coat (I love the floral trim!).

Happy (sale) shopping!

peony-print dress

This beautiful Misa Los Angeles Amalya Dress was another item I had rented from Rent the Runway that we didn't get a chance to shoot away from the house, but I forgot we shot some pictures on our front step and it's too pretty not to share.  This shade of green is not one I wear often so I was hesitant, but I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on.  It's bright and made me happy wearing it.  I love the ruffle details and tiered skirt.  I'm petite and normally dresses are too long on me, but the length of this one is perfect.  Normally I lean toward lighter-coloured accessories/shoes for spring, but I paired the peony-print dress with black booties and my Lack of Color Noir Rancher to pick up the black details in the dress.

If you love the dress, but not the colour, it comes in solid pink and black here.  If you love the print as much as I do, it also comes in a maxi dress (also available at Shopbop and Revolve).

Happy (online) shopping/renting!

things I'm coveting: warm tones

Free People Willow Printed Blouse
Jen's Pirate Booty Attalea Top
Free People I'm The One Maxi Dress
Sam Edelman Lillie Sandals
Ulla Johnson Iris Top

Madewell Smock-Waist Tiered Midi Skirt
Spell & The Gypsy Daisy Chain Romper
Free People Banda Blouse

Things I'm coveting: warm tones and warm sunshine.  I'm dreaming of being on a beach in Florida, or back in Myrtle Beach.  I can't wait to get back to the beach.  There is not much I find more soothing than listening to the crashing waves and feeling the sun on my face (covered with SPF, of course).  When I'm looking for something to wear to the beach, it needs to be comfortable and something I can just throw on, but I also want to feel put together grabbing a bite to eat afterward.  I usually reach for an easy, breezy blouse, maxi dress or romper.

The Free People Willow Printed Blouse, above, which comes in two other colours, is 100% cotton so it would be perfect for a day at the beach.  The print is so pretty.  The Free People I'm The One Maxi Dress looks SO comfy!  It also comes in two other colours.  I love a good romper and this Spell & The Gypsy Daisy Chain Romper is so charming.  I love the ruffles.

Jen's Pirate Booty is made for the beach.  I wear one of their tops and speak about my love for Jen's Pirate Booty on the blog here, which also includes pictures from one of their lookbooks (pictures are NSFW).  I love the Attalea Top, above.  It looks so comfortable and the colour reminds me of warm sunshine.

Happy coveting!

things I'm coveting: pastels

Free People Full Swing Mini Dress

Free People See You Sometime Cut Off Shorts
Coach 1941 Serena Suede Sandal
Faithfull The Brand Sage Mini Dress
SWF Puff Sleeve Romper
ZARA Swiss Dot Blouse

Lovers + Friends Sunset Mini Dress
Young, Fabulous & Broke Kyra Romper
leRumi Violet Top
alice + olivia Lori Mules
Juliet Dunn Tie Dye Shoulder Cover Up Dress
LoveShackFancy Stanton Dress
Faithfull The Brand Vionette Tie-Front Mini Dress
Eri + Ali Ruffled Eyelet Pullover

Hope everyone had a nice Easter under the circumstances.  This post of things I'm currently coveting has a very Easter vibe being that everything is pastel-coloured.  I love pastels for spring.  Actually, I love pastels any time of year.  The Free People Full Swing Mini Dress is so pretty and looks SO comfy.  I imagine just throwing it on to go grocery shopping, or out to dinner.  The Young, Fabulous & Broke Kyra Romper and the Juliet Dunn Tie Dye Shoulder Cover Up Dress would be perfect for a day at the beach, which is what I can't wait to get back to the most.

My cousin was planning a wedding for July that she sadly now has to cancel.  I was picturing wearing the LoveShackFancy Stanton Dress or the Lover + Friends Sunset Mini Dress.  We have a family picnic every year at the end of the summer so, if we're still lucky enough to have it, I might dress up more for it than I would normally.  I think the one thing about all of this is that people will not take for granted seeing and hanging out with their friends and family.  The second, wearing clothes other than pjs.

Happy coveting!

The Shopbop spring event is here!!  This event takes place every March where you can save up to 25% off everything (some exclusions apply) using code SPRING!  I'm eyeing everything from a new pair of sandals to a pretty blouse.  As you will probably notice, everything I've picked out is lightly coloured (if not white).  I'm loving all of the pastels and ruffles.  How pretty is the Free People Abigail Victorian Top?  It also comes in black, but I always gravitate toward anything other than black, especially for spring.  I own a pair of AGOLDE Parker Vintage Cutoff Shorts (as seen on the blog here) and they are my absolute favourite so I'm always excited to see a new colour.  A denim jacket is always a must for spring IMO.  I love the casual fit of the Free People Trucker Jacket.  It makes it easier to wear over anything from a sweater to a floral dress.  I think everyone should own a white knit sweater and a pair of white jeans.  I love pairing them together for a fresh look!  Add a pair of neutral booties, white sneakers, or a neutral (or pastel-coloured!) sandal.  Or add a pretty pastel-coloured bag for a pop of colour.  I'm obsessing over the The Marc Jacobs Crossbody Bag!

I'd love to hear what you scored at the Shopbop sale!  Comment below!

Happy shopping!

springtime romper

Lack of Color Zulu Rancher (also here)

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you know I love a good romper.  I think I'll still be wearing a romper when I'm 60 years old.  They're so easy to thrown on and who doesn't want easy?  Plus, I'm petite so they work better for me than jumpsuits (although I am obsessing over this jumpsuit by Sanctuary, this one by Faithfull the Brand, this one by Show Me Your Mumu and this one by All Things Mochi).

This past weekend was gorgeous (yay, spring!) so we headed down to the Swamp Rabbit Trail.  I threw on this Free People romper because it's SO comfortable and perfect for a spring day.  Because of the long walk, I slipped on my white Vans, otherwise I would pair this flowy romper with a gladiator sandal or a pair of booties, depending on the time of day.  I also threw on my new favourite Lack of Color Hat that I can't stop wearing.  I thought if it was breezy, the wool would at least keep me warm.

I purchased this romper late last year so it may be limited in stock.  I'm also loving these new styles for spring:

Apiece Apart Mariol Denim Romper, $345;
Winston White Blakeley Romper, $150;
Free People Redondo Romper, $60;
MINKPINK Lazy Daze Romper, $89;
Blue Life Boho Ballerina Romper, $185;
Kos Resort Eyelet Romper, $128;
Jen's Pirate Booty Chrysanthemum Romper, $150 (comes in 5 colours!);
Sundress Mimi Gingham Romper, $156;
Madewell Wrap-Front Romper in Prairie Posies, $148;
ZARA Printed Rustic Jumpsuit, $49.9;
ASOS Design Petite Broderie Frill Sleeve Tie Front Peplum Romper, $51
ASOS Design Shirred Romper with Frill Sleeve, $40

Nordstrom half-yearly sale pt III

#Nordstrom half-yearly sale pt III

Part III of my picks from the Nordstrom's 'Half-Yearly Sale'.  (Part I is here and Part II is here.)  I've combed through thousands of items from the sale today!  For those not able to do the same, I hope these edits help you in finding that perfect spring piece (or pieces)!  There are a lot of off-the-shoulder options.  I love the colour of the Rebecca Minkoff Ghiradelle Top (second from left).  I would pair the orange top with the amazing See by Chloe Dakota Platform Sandals (bottom).  (Sadly my size is sold out.)  I've been looking for easy dresses lately because it's been so hot here in the South and this Free People Spring Love Drape Dress (top, right) looks so comfortable.  Sadly, the Ray-Bans above already appear to be sold out, but there is a pair of aviators on sale here or these similar ones by Spektre, which are 40% off.

You can shop all of the items above by clicking below!
Happy Nordstrom sale shopping!
