smocked

Smocked dresses (and tops) are everywhere this spring!  Maybe it's because it brings me back to my childhood, but I've purchased a few smocked dresses for spring, including this LoveShackFancy Analia Dress, which is unfortunately sold out (there's still a size left in the cream version and it's on sale!).  This dress is so beautiful and the smocked bodice gives the dress more texture.  I love the mixed floral print and colorblocking and, even though it looks a bit fancy, it's very comfortable and lightweight.  I'm also loving this LoveShackFancy Masie Midi Dress and this LoveShackFancy Capri Midi Dress, which also have a smocked bodice.  I also recently purchased this smocked dress from & Other Stories, but it's unfortunately already sold out, but I'm loving this & Other Stories Printed Puff Sleeve Midi Dress.  I'll also be sharing this Spell & The Gypsy Collective smocked midi dress on the blog soon!

Other smocked pieces I'm loving:

Steele Amelia Dress (such a pretty colour!)

Happy smocking!

flare jeans

Free People has the best flare jeans.  I am obsessing over these velvet ones, especially in pink.  Also, how fun are these floral ones?  I used to own a pair of Free People flare jeans that I was obsessed with.  I wore them on the blog here styled with a striped sweater, here styled with a billowy blouse, here styled with a lace-up top and here styled with a faux shag coat (among many other times).  Unfortunately, they no longer fit :(

But, alas, I found these amazing cord flare jeans to take their place.  They are SO comfy.  (Unfortunately they're out of stock, but I'd keep an eye out for restocks.  I also linked some similar ones above!)  I loved the embroidered detail on my last pair of flare jeans so maybe I was holding out on finding a pair with a little flare (sorry).  (Or maybe it's because I'm petite, but I decided to hem i.e., cut these myself - thanks, 2020!)  I love the color blocked graphic on the back.  They're so unique!  I also love the touch of pink, which means I could pair it with my favourite pink Lack of Color hat.  I paired the flare jeans with a simple thermal top, which I had styled on the blog here with velvet skinny jeans.

Happy shopping!

all of the pretty sweaters

LoveShackFancy Ryland Sweater (sold out, found it here, cropped cardigan version here)

I love fall fashion and cozy sweaters are my jam, but it's still 80 degrees in Florida so I've had to limit my sweater shopping, which has been difficult because there are SO many gorgeous ones out there!  (I try to stick to cotton or acrylic ones, instead of ones with wool, until the temps really drop.)  This LoveShackFancy Ryland Sweater sold out immediately, but you can get back-in-stock notifications and I found a couple sizes left at Farfetch (links above).  I'm not surprised it sold out... the cotton candy colours, the balloon sleeves and the mixed star details.  Since it's still quite warm here, I paired the pretty pink and purple sweater with a pair of white eyelet shorts.

I've come across so many pretty sweaters.  I'm a sucker for anything with a pretty ruffle, embroidery and/or a balloon sleeve.  Below are some pretty sweaters that are at the top of my list:

ZARA has too many beautiful ones to choose from:

ZARA Oversized Wool Blend Cardigan (baby blue! balloon sleeves!)

Happy (sweater) shopping!

birthday dress / floral summer dress

Happy first day of Summer!  Summer is my favourite season.  I love the heat, which is why we moved from Canada to South Carolina.  Fall is a close second, but mostly when it comes to fashion, and summer being here just means fall is close by.  Unfortunately, fall doesn't start here until November or so, but I'm not complaining... that's usually when the fall sales start.  Summer fashion isn't usually as exciting, but then LoveShackFancy dropped a line for Target a couple of weeks ago!  I stayed up until 3 am, which was worth it because I was able to score 3 beautiful dresses.  (Unfortunately I think the entire line sold out, but I'd keep checking for returns or your local store!)

Last weekend I 'celebrated' my birthday.  I put that in quotes because we didn't really do anything because I'm still too nervous to eat out.  Even though we didn't go anywhere, I wanted to dress up so I put on this LoveShackFancy for Target tiered dress and it definitely felt like a special occasion.  This dress is SO pretty!  The tiered style makes you want to twirl around in it.  I love a floral print and I love the colorblocking.  It's so comfortable too.  The best part?  It was $40!

If you missed out and are still looking for a summer dress, I found some other floral dresses for under $100:

Free People Take Me With You Ruffle Dress, $98
Free People Don't Dare Mixed Print Slip, $78
ASOS Design Midi Dress with Cut Out Back and Tie Waist, $60
