neon pink oversized sweater

{ZARA Oversized Sweater (sold out online, love this one, this one's on sale!);
FRAME Le High Skinny Jeans (old, love these);
Urban Outfitters Hat (similar here);
Prada Sunglasses}

Well, that escalated quickly.  It cooled down quite a bit this weekend, but I was happy to pull out this neon pink, super cozy, ZARA oversized sweater.  It sadly appears to be sold out online, but check your local ZARA since I just purchased it two weeks ago! Pink is still, after many years, my favourite colour, especially in fall/winter because it brightens up my mood since I do not like cold weather.  I paired this neon pink sweater with grey FRAME skinny jeans and VANS to run some errands.

Do you prefer brights or darker colours for fall/winter?  If you prefer the latter, then you might love this ZARA grey oversized sweater.

Happy shopping!

neon / stripes

{sweater: Maison Scotch; top: Free People; jeans: GAP; beanie: J.Crew (in-store);
booties: Marc by Marc Jacobs (black, leather version); sunglasses: Prada}

For some reason - maybe it's the magazines I've been receiving in the mail saying, "Spring Trend Preview", or the amazing pink Pierre Hardy pumps I picked up recently - I've been getting really excited for spring.  But then I realize it's only January and spring is not even close.  It's supposed to be around -20 this week so I have to face it, buying spring clothes right now would just be torturing myself.  I was sick over the holidays and was bummed that I didn't get to take advantage of the Boxing Day sales.  I finally ventured over to the mall recently and realized this time of year is better than ever to shop.  I scored this amazing Maison Scotch sweater for over 75% off.  So it's almost a good thing that I got sick over the holidays.  Hey, I'd give up a good meal for fashion any day.

pop

{sweatshirt: Isabel Marant Pour H&M; GAP 1969 Legging Jeans; hat: J.Crew (similar);
jacket: Anthropologie (in-store, similar) sneaker wedge: Marc by Marc Jacobs; sunglasses: Prada}

Since I found a coat for the winter, I'm now stocking up on toques (or beanies, as some people call them) since last week was freezing.  This weekend was pretty mild, but I find if you wear a toque, you're able to get away with wearing less clothing anyway.  I love this J.Crew one (mine is the non-cashmere version - I bought it in-store) because it's a nice pop of colour against all the black and grey I've been wearing lately.  (Speaking of grey, I missed out on the cardigan I wanted from the Isabel Marant collection for H&M, but needed a sweatshirt and thought this 'smile' one from the kids' collection was cute.)  It's not like me to wear so much of those colours.  And I think I was starting to go through withdrawals last week because I also picked up a neon pink sweater from French Connection, which I am obsessed with.  I feel like myself again!

pink & orange pt. II

{sweatshirt, espadrilles, sunglasses (old): Marc by Marc Jacobs;
boyfriend shorts: GAP; bow ring: H&M (in-store); lips: Smashbox 'Fuchsia Flash'}

I am obsessed with this MBMJ sweatshirt.  It's so cozy and fun.  I thought I was done wearing it during the day, but it's back to being cool out.  This weekend's supposed to be really nice, which would be great since it's my birthday tomorrow!  Not many people like celebrating their birthdays (at my age), but it's an excuse for me to buy new things (hey, who says I can't buy myself birthday presents?), go out to dinner and have cake.  I don't pay attention to the getting older part.

chambray pants

{pants: J.Crew; sweater: Guess; sunglasses (old), shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs;
heart bracelets: H&M (in-store, recent); heart necklace: Coach (old); hat (similar): Roxy}

We went to the Toronto Zoo today and the first thing I thought to wear when I thought of walking around all day in the sunshine-but-cool-breeze weather were these J.Crew chambray pants.  They are so comfortable and I will probably live in them all summer.  I'm also eyeing these linen pants.  They are perfect for those lounge-by-the-fire nights.  And the yeah-sometimes-it's-shorts-weather-but-most-of-the-time-it's-not spring weather.

p.s. These Marc by Marc Jacobs slingback mouse flats were also so comfortable to walk around in all day.

denim jacket

{top: Zara; skirt: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old); jacket, ring: H&M (in-store, recent);
necklace: Juicy Couture (old); nails: CoverGirl 'Coral Silk'}

I've been eyeing this Marc by Marc Jacobs striped dress lately and it made me think of this skirt.  (I have a thing for polka dots and florals but, by the looks of my closet, I'm also obsessed with stripes.)  Normally I would pair this skirt with a white tank because of the details of the skirt (neon, stripes...), but I just bought this amazing denim jacket from H&M so I thought I could go a little crazier and pair the skirt with this neon top and the jacket would tone down the outfit.  I've been looking for the perfect denim jacket for a long time.  I have a J Brand one with coated sleeves and a super cropped one, both of which I love, but a simple denim jacket is a must-have for all closets.  It's perfect for spring and it'll be great once it starts getting cooler.  I'm still in shock I didn't own one... and more in shock I found one for under $35!

p.s. Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely, stylish moms out there!

camo on camo

{jacket (old), jeans: GAP; tee: Zara; bracelet: BCBG
sunglasses (old), sneaker wedge: Marc by Marc Jacobs (few sizes left here);
cross-body bag: Steve Madden (Winners, recent)

Yay, sunshine (again)!  I won't get too excited because it will probably be taken from us, once again.  I mean, it was snowing late last week.  But I'll enjoy it while we have it.  Soon it will be too hot that people will be complaining that it's too hot, but not me.  Bring on the scorching heat!  And then I'll be replacing my camo jeans with these adorable Guess camo shorts.  I'm clearly having a thing for camo lately.

paradise island

taking in the view...
our first walk to the beach...
the Atlantis Royal Tower (we stayed at the Coral)...
I heart you, Paradise Island...
afternoon treat, daily...
originally I had an outfit picked out with heels, but I'm obsessed with these flats!
a breezy day, perfect for this C&C California dress I had yet to wear even though I bought it last summer...
saved the best (Valentino) for last...
saying good-bye... (which wasn't as depressing because I had also picked up these kick-ass leopard print sneakers at Zara to wear to and from the airport)

sandals: G by Guess / top: Lush; hat: Roxy /

blouse: Eight Sixty (bought at Mendocino, also here) / sneakers: Zara}

I went to the mall before our trip to the Bahamas to pick up little things like jewellery to complete my outfits, not to buy new shoes.  But, of course, I went home with a pair of shoes.  At first I was trying on these, but then I spotted the adorable, bright pink slingback mouse flats, above.  Although the other pair are probably more practical (i.e., wear to work) and I contemplated getting them instead, in my head I knew which pair I'd be walking out of the store with.
