color me glad (again)

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!  Last month on the blog, I wore this cozy Free People pullover with a pair of black Levi's.  Now that spring is officially here, I'm pairing the colorblock pullover with these pretty, pink Free People flare jeans, which I last paired with an oversized thermal on the blog here.  These flare jeans are super comfortable and come in 20 different colors!  The 'Pasasena Pink' ones I'm wearing are more mauve than pink and, since the pullover has purple sleeves, I thought it would be fun to pair the two together.  Tying in the pink-ish jeans, I added my pink Lack of Color Rancher.

Now that it has warmed up again, I'll really be lightening things up by pairing this oversized pullover with these ivory Levi's 501 shorts, which will be perfect for those breezy beach days!

Happy shopping!

pink flare jeans

Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day/long weekend!  As soon as I saw these pink Free People jeans, I thought they would be perfect for Valentine's Day (let's be honest, I would've purchased them anyway).  We were planning on heading to a park where we like to hang out, or drive around St. Augustine and head to the beach, if it was warmer, but we had thunderstorms on and off for the past week so we didn't end up leaving the house.

 I have always loved flare jeans.  I remember living in a pair of corduroy ones in college.  Most recently, I was obsessed with a pair of embroidered Free People flare jeans, as seen on the blog here, here and here (among many other times).  But once they became too tight on me, it took me a few years to find a pair to replace them.  Also, I had since moved to the States and no longer near my MIL, who used to hem pants for me.  Then I came across these Free People Ray of Sunshine Cord Flare Jeans, as seen on the blog here, which are back in stock (yay!), and could not resist them.  It also helped that because I cut my own hair during this pandemic, I decided I could probably cut my own jeans too, which I did and was quite impressed with myself, ha!  Now I'll never shy away from a flare jean!

Regardless of Valentine's Day, I have a slight obsession with pink so I could not resist buying these pink jeans (although they are more 'mauve' than the bright pink I was expecting).  They are super comfortable.  I paired the jeans with a casual thermal top but, because of my love of pink, I have no shortage of sweaters and tops to pair with these beauties.  I recently purchased this cute Free People tee (now on sale!), which pairs well with them.  If you really love colour like I do, these jeans also go well with this Farm Rio Rainbow Striped Sweater.  I will definitely be living in these pink jeans for the next couple of months (until it becomes deathly hot here in Florida)!

Are you a fan of flare jeans?  If you're not a fan of pink, these flare jeans come in 19 other colours!

Happy shopping!

red & pink

{Style Mafia Aris Top (also here and here, similar peach one here);
Jeffrey Campbell Vionnet Flats (they also come in grey here and other colours/leather here);
Urban Outfitters Fedora (similar here);
Prada Sunglasses}

Red and pink are not only my two favourite colours separately, but I love pairing them together (as seen on the blog for Valentine's Day before here).  I was not specifically shopping for Valentine's Day when I came across this Style Mafia Aris Top on Shopbop, but immediately fell in love with the ruffles, cutout shoulders and, of course, colour.  But since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, rather than styling this pretty red top with any pair of jeans, I styled it with these pink Paige jeans I bought a few years ago and pink flats.  I felt like a walking Valentine ha.  The great thing about this top is that you can dress it up (it would also look great with a pair of black jeans), or dress it down because it is a sweatshirt.  Yes, a sweatshirt.  A red, ruffled, cold shoulder sweatshirt.

Happy Valentine's Day!

on Wednesdays we wear pink

{Paige Denim Edgemont Ultra Skinny (in coated black, similar here, other colours here);
sandals: MICHAEL Michael Kors (similar here); sunglasses: Prada}

I'm loving pinks and nudes for fall.  Pink is my favourite colour any season, but I especially love wearing it, along with bright colours, when the temp drops.  I lived in a pink coat last year.  It really helped change my mood when I was about to brave the cold.  Constantly wearing black and grey can be depressing.  Check back tomorrow, I'll be sharing my pink picks for fall!

ballet pink & zippers

Paige Denim Edgemont Ultra Skinny Jeans; top: Forever 21 (old); sunglasses: Prada;

We went out to dinner Saturday night and although it was scorching hot and I normally would've used the opportunity to wear a cute little romper, I could not wait to wear these jeans.  I first saw these jeans online in white and fell instantly in love with them, but thankfully did not get around to buying them because then I saw them in pink.  PINK!  I definitely didn't wait to buy these.  As girly as I am, I love that these jeans aren't 'too pink' (if you know what I mean) and the zippers make them edgier and add a unique touch.  Because these jeans aren't too girly, I paired them with a lace top and opted for no jewellery because I always feel less is more.

moments

handbag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5 Zip (bought at Mendocino, love this colour); hat: Big It Up (old)}

{jeans: One Teaspoon Minnie Awesome Baggies (bought at Mendocino); t-shirt: GAP}

Just a little post of a couple of moments shot this past week.  The first moment: shopping with my 4 year old son, who took this picture (I think photography may be in his future!).  I've been living in these camo pants from Aritzia and this Free People denim jacket is my go-to jacket lately.  I thought I found the perfect denim jacket last spring from H&M, but no denim jacket is as comfy as this one with knit sleeves.  The second moment: taking a sick day and hanging out in my new favourite jeans.  These 'Awesome Baggies' are super comfy and perfectly distressed.  I could sit in them, drink tea and read magazines all day, everyday.  Minus the sick part.

awesome baggies

sweatshirt: Topshop; Dolce Vita Stirling Boots (also here); sunglasses: Prada}

I've been seeing a lot of distressed jeans out there and, although I have a pair of awesome 7 for All Mankind distressed jeans that I bought years ago and are still my favourite pair of jeans, I was not sure I was a fan of the super distressed kind.  My 7s only have one hole.  In the knee.  But I thought I would give them a try and I'm so glad I did because as soon as I put these "awesome baggies" on, I was hooked.  Maybe it's because they're pink, or maybe I was in the mood for some really comfy jeans but, either way, these are both and I'll be living in them this spring.  These would look great with a pair of pumps, but I was taking my son to get some froyo, so I paired them with these also awesome Dolce Vita boots, which are also really comfy.
