ruffled tee

Free People Zoe Angular Sunglasses

As a stay-at-home mom, I'm always on the hunt for comfortable but cute clothes.  I've been eyeing this Free People Le Femme Tee for awhile and had I known how comfortable it is, I would've purchased it much sooner!  It's SO soft and feels as comfy as any tee I have.  But it has ruffles!  I also love the pretty pleating and lace details.  I paired it with my favourite, as-comfortable-as-denim-can-get, AGOLDE loose fit cutoff shorts.  This Victorian-inspired tee also comes in two other colours (linked above).  It also comes in ivory here, which is also super pretty and would obviously pair with anything and everything.  A comfy tee that's this pretty, it's hard to choose just one!

Happy shopping!

denim skirt & sneakers

Rag & Bone/JEAN Suzanne Tee (other colours);
Brixton Hat (one I'm wearing sold out, found it here);

A rainy day outfit.  I bought this One Teaspoon Junkyard Skirt early last week and have already worn it twice.  (It's already almost sold out at Revolve, but Nasty Gal has every size in stock!)  It's perfect for someone petite like me.  And I love it for the same reason I love my One Teaspoon Bandits - your booty is covered!
(Tip: size up!)

mellow yellow & the basic tee

{Rag & Bone/JEAN Suzanne Tee (other colours here);
jeans: Free People; hat: Brixton; sunglasses: Prada}

I've been wearing tank tops and rompers all summer because it's been deathly hot since we moved here in June and now that it's starting to cool down a little (and I mean a little - I put these jeans on because it had cooled down and I was hot after 5 minutes), and I'm a new stay-at-home mom, I realize I don't own that many t-shirts.  I have always focused on work clothes and, well, I don't work out.  It's great to shop for tees now since fall stuff is moving in and the summer stuff is going on sale.  I've been looking for basic-but-not-too-basic tees and I thought this Rag & Bone one was pretty.  I can't justify spending too much on a white or black tee, but I discovered Everlane through another blogger and they have the basics I've been looking for, for a reasonable price.

iggy

bracelets: H&M; hat: BCBG; sunglasses: Prada}

I love hip hop music.  Always have.  When I was around 13, I was obsessed with FU-Schnickens and tried getting every lyric down to "La Schmoove".  I'm pretty sure I thought I would be the first Eminem (you know, before Eminem came out) except I can't actually write rap lyrics, or actually rap.  (And then Eminem came out and I'm pretty sure he's my soul mate.)  At first I was skeptical of Iggy, but her 'Fancy' song got stuck in my head so I checked her out and listened to her song with T.I. and gave her a chance.  I downloaded her album and became obsessed.  So of course I ordered this tee when I saw her feature on revolveclothing.com.  The girl is living my dream.  But if she starts dating Eminem though, it's over.

fancy tee

shoes: Marc by Marc Jacobs; bracelet: J.Crew; sunglasses: Prada}

We just booked a trip to Disney World (yay!).  This past weekend was extremely hot so I can only imagine what it's going to be like in Florida.  I'll be packing this Free People tee.  It's so breezy, which will be nice in the deathly heat.  I love the cutouts in the shoulders, which makes this tee anything but basic.  I paired it with cutoffs and these Marc by Marc Jacobs wedge espadrilles that I bought last summer to add a pop of colour.  Also because I'm pretty sure I only wore these espadrilles once or twice last summer, which made me think I should probably shop my own closet for my trip rather than buy new things.  We'll see how that goes.

wild kisses

{top: Maison Scotch; boyfriend jeans: GAP; wedges: Matiko (similar here);
sunglasses: MBMJ; bracelets: BCBG (in-store, sold out online), H&M (in-store)}

This is the second top that I bought recently with lips on it.  Who can resist a kiss, let alone a wild one?  I discovered Maison Scotch just a little while ago and now am a big fan.  I love the leopard touch to this t-shirt so, of course, paired it with these amazing Matiko leopard wedges since I seem to be matchy-matchy with my outfits these days.  I used to buy a lot of t-shirts, specifically Marc by Marc Jacobs ones, but they would just sit in my drawer because usually when I get home from work I immediately put on my pjs and weekends I usually dress up.  Now that I'm on mat leave, I've been wearing a lot more casual clothes, which is nice for a change.

red, white & blue

{tee: Zara; pants: GAP; shoes: Guess; necklace: Juicy Couture (old); nails: Essie 'Blanc';
jacket, ring (recent, in-store): H&M; sunglasses (old), bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs}

I'm just going to pretend THAT week didn't happen.  So much for wearing a cute romper on Victoria Day.  I know it's only May, but it's been so humid some days!  Plus, I wore my denim jacket and I was still cold and it was supposed to be the hottest day of the weekend.  Yes, I prefer hot weather, but I'm not going to complain about today's weather.  It was a bit chilly at times, but I don't mind wearing a light jacket and I finally got to wear this cute Zara tee I've had for a while.  See, because this is spring weather.  (Ok, maybe I'm just appreciating today because this past week was freezing.)  Anyway, I decided to pair this super cute tee with my red GAP khakis I love so much.  And since it's Memorial Day weekend, I thought I would show some love to my American friends by adding this blue Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet.  I hope everyone has a lovely weekend, surrounded by friends and family!

p.s. I'm also trying out the white nail polish trend and LOVE it!  It reminds me of when I used to paint my nails with whiteout as a teenager.  Oh, the memories.
