LDD: little denim dress

{One Teaspoon Lotus Denim Dress (also here); hat: Talula; bracelet: J.Crew;
sneakers: Vans; sunglasses: Prada}

I came across this One Teaspoon dress and searched everywhere for my size, but sadly could not find it.  So I ordered this one instead, which is very similar.  It's the perfect little denim dress because you can wear it everywhere.  Just throw it on and head to the beach, run errands, etc.  I wore this dress to dinner the other night - with a bandeau so there were no 'wardrobe malfunctions' - and gladiator sandals, see here).  My favourite part of this dress is the back, but you can see the front and how I styled it with a necklace here.

palm tree life / white tee and cutoffs

{tee: Anthropologie; shorts: Levi's (bought in-store at Aritzia); hat: Talula; shoes: Miss Sixty;
initial necklace: Guess (old, love this Kate Spade one); bracelet: Coach; sunglasses: Prada}

Hi from Myrtle Beach!!  We've been here for almost two weeks now and it already feels like home.  It also still feels like we're on vacation so that's a bonus!  We drove to Pittsburgh for the night after closing our house and had awesome 'saucy balls' at a place called Sienna Mercato for lunch the next day.  I'm not big on meatballs but they are amazing.  Next up was Charlotte, North Carolina for the night.  The next day we had brunch at Mimosa Grill, which was all-you-can-eat (it was a Sunday).  I would've loved to spend more time in NC, but it was off to Myrtle Beach since we had an early closing the next day.  It's been non-stop unpacking ever since.  (I am STILL not done organizing my closet.  I finally have a walk-in again!)  I decided it was time to take a break and finally do some shopping!  I started with some online shopping of course (first stop, Saks.com!).  Then we headed to Market Common for some crepes at Crepe Creation Cafe and did a little shopping at Anthropologie, which is where I picked up this perfect white tee (and a few other things).  It's very, very hot here (apparently hotter than usual) so besides wearing a bathing suit, it's been shorts and tees every day.  And I love it.

simple

{top: Wilfred via Aritzia; jeans: ZARA; hat: Urban Outfitters;
sneakers: Vans; sunglasses: Prada}

I've been rotating the same pieces lately, including these ZARA boyfriend jeans, because 1) I have barely had a second to think about what to wear; and 2) I have packed up most of my clothes, jewellery, etc. for our big move in a couple of days.  It's crazy to think we will be living in Myrtle Beach by Monday!  Our first stop will be Pittsburgh and I can't wait because I've never been.  I'm looking forward to the shopping, of course.  That's one of the things I'm looking forward to is online shopping (besides the staying home with my kids, living near a beach, not working - you know).  No more duties, no more shipping fees.  Free returns!  So next time you see me, I'll be blogging from the States with my newly free-shipped clothes.

the outdoors

{Wilfred Beaudry Blouse; FRAME Le Colour Ripped (love the white version); jacket: Free People;
hat: Urban Outfitters; sneakers: Converse (similar here); sunglasses: Prada}

I love living close to the lake.  Even though it's not a lake most would swim in, it's still a beautiful view and it always calms me.  I can only imagine what it'll be like living in Myrtle Beach.  I'm not the 'outdoorsy' type per se (I prefer fancy hotels over campsites), but working in an office for 15 years, I truly have been appreciating every day that I've been home (and outdoors), especially since the weather's been getting nicer in Ontario (even though it's unpredictable).  These pieces have been on repeat since I packed almost everything away.  One more week and I'll be living in shorts and bathing suits!

kimono

top (love this and this one), ring, kimono: Free People; jeans: 7 For All Mankind (similar);
bracelet: J.Crew; shoes: Valentino (other colours); sunglasses: Prada}

I went out to dinner Friday night to say good-bye to one of my closest friends.  (Of course it'll be that much more fun when we get together next - in Myrtle Beach!)  It was a bit cool, but not cool enough to wear a jacket, and this Free People kimono is perfect for nights like that.  I knew I wanted to wear it (along with my Valentinos), so I went with a simple pair of jeans and white top.  I have a feeling I'll be living in this kimono in South Carolina since I can't imagine it gets too cold at night (at least not anytime soon).  Or I'll be picking up another one - it comes in 6 other colours and I love the new 'navy paisley' one!

top: Anthropologie; jeans, ring: Free People; bracelet: J.Crew; hat: Talula via Aritzia;
bag: Silence + Noise; shoes: MICHAEL Michael Kors (last year, love these); sunglasses: Prada}

In my last post I mentioned that I packed up most of my clothing for our big move so I've been repeating a few pairs of jeans lately.  (It's funny how little clothing you actually need.  It made me realize how important it is to buy pieces you really love - rather than quantity - because when you wear those pieces you love you always feel good wearing them.)  I am obsessed with these Free People jeans.  I'm so over dark jeans (except my new pair of black Frame Denim jeans) - for now.  I wore this beautiful Anthropologie top for Mother's Day but I never ended up getting a chance to take pictures.  I paired it with black dress pants since I took my MIL to a fancy restaurant for brunch.  I actually picked up this blouse when I was in Myrtle Beach a couple of months ago.  I can't believe we'll be living there in a couple of weeks!

gingham

{shirt: J.Crew; jeans: Marciano (old); sneakers: Vans;
hat: Urban Outfitters; bracelet: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old); sunglasses: Prada}

It was a gorgeous long weekend.  I wore this outfit running errands on Saturday.  (It ended up becoming so hot I had to change into shorts.)  I love gingham so I had to pick this pretty blouse up when I saw it at J.Crew, even though I am no longer working and I usually only wear shirts like this at work.  But it's so easy breezy and great for spring.  I paired it simply here with jeans, but I'm excited to mix it up and pair it with some floral shorts, or a floral skirt (btw, how pretty is this tree?), but I've pretty much packed up all my clothes for my big move to Myrtle Beach in less than a few weeks!
