I've probably said it 100x on my blog - I love pink (see my recent post here!). I've been eyeing a Free People v-neck sweater for a while (as shown in this post from the fall - a post about, you guessed it, pink!), but I'm really trying to cut back on my shopping (especially of sweaters since I bought quite a few over the holidays), at least for the next couple of months. We're going away in March so I'm challenging myself to not shop until then (good luck to me!). But I couldn't stop thinking of the sweater because I surprisingly don't own a light pink sweater and I kept thinking about how great it would look with this coat. I love a monochrome look. So when I came across this sweater at the GAP outlet (I was shopping for the kids!), I couldn't pass it up for the price (I think it was well under $20). Sure enough I loved it paired with my pink coat, but I paired them with black to tone all the pink down. Pink doesn't have to be over-the-top girly. (Although I'm not one to turn down a frilly pink dress either.)

spring is coming
Stuart Weitzman The Lowland Boot; sunglasses (similar): Prada}
I have been hibernating for the past few weeks. I am not a winter person. At all. I'm heading to Myrtle Beach this weekend and I cannot wait. It's a short trip to visit some friends but I'm just happy to get away from the below 0 weather we've been having lately. I'm more excited to head to Mexico later this month. Usually by February I want to crawl into a hole, or at least not get out of bed, because of this weather so I decided to chop my hair off, which has actually made me feel a lot better. Wearing this coat also helps. I'm ready to put away the parka! I also have some exciting news hopefully coming soon. Stay tuned!

the perfect pink coat
I am obsessed with this coat. I ordered a pink coat a while ago and was not pleased with the quality so I returned it. I've been on the hunt ever since for the perfect pink coat. I'm petite but I wanted a big coat so that I could layer chunky turtlenecks underneath. I'm like an Olsen twin. I want my clothes to swallow me (i.e. keep me warm in the winter). I have other coats that are more fitted, which makes them difficult to wear when the temp drops because they're hard to layer under and I'm just not ready for a parka. This coat is so beautiful and has kept me surprisingly warm (it's only 35% wool). It feels like I'm wrapped in a blanket it's so cozy. (I might have to buy it in the grey.)
