embroidered check top

As soon as I saw this beautiful embroidered check top on the ZARA site, I wanted to buy it immediately.  But it wasn't in stock yet so I clicked 'email me when available'.  Then waited.  And waited.  It felt like weeks (it was probably only a few days).  I stalked the website just in case the 'email me when available' wasn't working.  I finally received the email and it was like Christmas!  This was a top I needed in my closet.  It's perfect for transitioning into fall.  The embroidery is beautiful but I'm obsessed with the sleeves.  I originally paired this check top with dark blue skinny jeans for dinner (since it was actually below 80 last week in the evening), but it heated up again so this time paired it with cutoffs.  P.s. I've been living in these One Teaspoon Bandits.

boho is best

Isabel Marant Etoile Booties;
Brixton Dalila Hat in Brown (colour I'm wearing sold out);
Prada Sunglasses}

'For long sun-stained afternoons, early market mornings and starry festival nights.
This pretty little Shift Dress is an ode to the effortlessness of long Sunday mornings by the sea. This one is loose fitting with boho sleeves and made from the softest rayon in our Indian Princess print, reminiscent of the 70's.
Pair it with loose locks, boho jewels and ankle boots.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

wear to work: Monday to Casual Friday

#OOTD: Monday to Casual Friday

Happy Friday!  I know at this point of the day you're just thinking about the weekend (and possibly a glass of wine), but I put together some outfits to take you from Monday to 'Casual Friday'.  I think everyone should own a great pair of black cropped trousers (GAP, J.Crew and ZARA are my go-tos), a white blouse, a blue shirt, a black blazer, a pair (or two) of flats (or heels, if that's your preference!), a pair (or two) of booties/boots, a sweaterdress (or 10 - you just put them on and go!), a cardigan (or two) for layering (offices are usually chilly), a suede and/or leather skirt and, last but not least, a pair of jeans (I recommend a dark wash) for 'Casual Friday'.

What's great about these items is that you can mix and match them.  So if you're looking to go shopping for fall clothes, I would start by looking at your closet and seeing if you need these items (or if any of them need updating).  And then you build from there.  The key is to add pieces that can work with the rest of your wardrobe, like the Aritzia (vegan) suede skirt, above.  Just swap out the sweaterdress, add one of the shirts shown above and you're good to go!  Once your basics are covered, then you can start adding in some fun items, like these pink J.Crew pants.  You also don't want to buy something that doesn't work with the rest of your wardrobe (I found that out the hard way).
