valley girl

Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend!  I was hoping to get to the beach, but I was pretty unmotivated this weekend.  I can't seem to get my energy back from the gloomy week we had last week, but this Free People top put a little pep in my step today!  It's the perfect little top for a day at the beach, but I couldn't help but put it on today.  It's such a fun top!  I love the bell sleeves and the colour is SO pretty.

I love that you can wear it two different ways, but I prefer off-the-shoulder.  Best part, this top is only $58!  It also comes in black.  It's a crop top so I paired it with a pair of black, high-waisted cutoffs.  I purchased these cutoffs on the Levi's site and most sizes are sold out, but I found them at Urban Outfitters, Revolve and Shopbop.

pretty pink pleats

Pink is my favourite colour and I love a statement sleeve, which I'm pretty sure I've mentioned on my blog a million times, so it was love at first sight when I saw this Anthropologie Luma Peasant Top.  I'm obsessed with the oversized sleeves.  I scrunched up the sleeves to make them even bigger!  This top is flowy and light, which makes it the perfect top for spring/summer.  It'll be my go-to top for the beach, just throw over a bathing suit and go.  I could have dressed it up a bit with lace-up sandals, but we just headed to Broadway at the Beach for a casual dinner and a stroll so I just slipped on my go-to Adidas slides.  This top would also look great dressed up with white skinny jeans.

cheap frills

{ZARA Frilled Sleeve Top (love this denim dress, this white blouse and I bought this olive top);
Urban Outfitters Fedora (similar here);

Sigh.  This was last Thursday.  (After I finally, after two years, got my hair cut and coloured (!) so we quickly took pictures before the sun went down, but I felt naked without a hat ha.)  I was so excited to finally throw on shorts.  It was so beautiful out.  These AGOLDE high rise cutoff shorts are one of the items I purchased during the shopbop sale.  Before the sale I made a list of items missing from my closet and a pair of black high-waisted cutoffs (to wear with cropped tops) were on that list and these are exactly what I was looking for.  (I also ordered a pair of loose fit cutoff shorts, which are equally amazing.  I'm now a new fan of AGOLDE.)  I'm now on the hunt for a pair of blue high-waisted shorts (I'm eyeing these Madewell ones) and a pair of white high-waisted shorts (I'm eyeing these GRLFRND ones).  The main reason why I threw on these shorts was because I wanted to wear this cropped top from ZARA.  I love the frilled sleeves, as I'm a sucker for a fancy sleeve, and this top is under $30!  Speaking of frills, I almost bought a cute ZARA jacket with frilled sleeves, but I thought, nah it's going to get too hot soon.  Yesterday I had to wear a winter coat.  Ha.  Speaking of ZARA, their mid-season sale (up to 50% on selected items) started today!

Happy shopping!

embroidered check top

As soon as I saw this beautiful embroidered check top on the ZARA site, I wanted to buy it immediately.  But it wasn't in stock yet so I clicked 'email me when available'.  Then waited.  And waited.  It felt like weeks (it was probably only a few days).  I stalked the website just in case the 'email me when available' wasn't working.  I finally received the email and it was like Christmas!  This was a top I needed in my closet.  It's perfect for transitioning into fall.  The embroidery is beautiful but I'm obsessed with the sleeves.  I originally paired this check top with dark blue skinny jeans for dinner (since it was actually below 80 last week in the evening), but it heated up again so this time paired it with cutoffs.  P.s. I've been living in these One Teaspoon Bandits.

black & white boho

 {Tularosa Huxley Top in Ivory Striped Tribal (also in a tank dress here and off-the-shoulder here);
Urban Outfitters Hat (similar);

My #OOTD post on Friday was also a black and white combo post, which I usually save for fall or winter since I'm more of a bright colours kind of gal in the summer, but I had ordered this Tularosa top and the combo was on my mind.  I am obsessed with the Tularosa Huxley top.  There have been different versions.  But this black & white (erm, ivory) one is my favourite.  I love the boho vibe.  Flowy so you can eat whatever the hell you want and not feel uncomfortable... although after the Italian feast I had with my sister at Ducatis Pizzeria & Trattoria (my new go-to for Italian food in Myrtle Beach), these shorts did need unbuttoning in the car.  But this top covered them.  So that's enough of a reason to buy it, if you ask me.  Oh, also because it's super pretty.  I love that you can wear the braided tie a few different ways too: tied (it came that way and I was rushing out the door), untied completely, or hanging loose and tied in a knot.
