sugar jam

It has finally cooled down here in Florida.  We had a cozy Christmas Day but, other than that, it was quite warm over the holidays so I didn't really live in the sweaters I thought I would (not that I'm complaining).  It's going to be a chilly weekend, but this week has been the perfect temperature.  I had to run an errand and was able to finally wear this fuzzy sweater by Free People.  It is SO cozy, but lightweight so it's perfect for the weather we've been having.  Unfortunately the colour I'm wearing is currently out of stock (I've seen it come back in stock so I'd keep an eye out!), but I'm loving the 'Limon' colour.

I'm not a huge fan of putting on jeans on a regular day, let alone over the past year, but I promised myself I wouldn't leave the house in joggers in 2021.  (Cutting out junk food has not been as successful.)  Thankfully, I purchased these Madewell high-rise skinny jeans over the holidays.  They are SO comfy.  They're stretchy, but flattering - a combo I find hard to find in a pair of jeans.  I piled on the pink accessories because I'm a crazy person who loves pink a little too much.  (I've been eyeing these pink Free People slouch boots and I would 100% be wearing them with this outfit.)

Nordstrom half-yearly sale pt I

#Nordstrom half-yearly sale pt I

Nordstrom's 'Half-Yearly Sale' started today.  I've been combing through thousands of items and, since there are so many great pieces to choose from, broke my edit down into 2+ posts.  Part I includes items that are great to transition into spring with (since it's still a little cool in some areas) and part II will have more warm-weather pieces (stay tuned!).  Most items are 40% off, but only until June 4!  This Free People Weekend Wanderer Military Jacket (top, left) is the perfect jacket for spring.  I prefer whites for spring, but it also comes in green and black.  A sandal (I've been eyeing these leopard-print Steve Madden Inca Sandals) is a great way to dip your toe into spring (pun intended, sorry).  You can pair them with jeans and a long-sleeved top, like this pretty See by Chloe Fishnet Lace & Fringe Top, or this beautiful TIBI Cotton Poplin Asymmetrical Top.  I love the colour and the cold shoulder detail.  There are many spring bags on sale.  I love this Rebecca Minkoff Love Crossbody Bag in Sea Mist.  It would look great with an all-white outfit, or paired with another fun colour like the lavender TIBI top above.

soft grey top

{top: ZARA; jeans: Frame (also here)
boots: Isabel Marant (sold out, also love these (on sale!);
bag: Free People; hat: Urban Outfitterssunglasses: Prada}

We went to Broadway at the Beach to watch the parade.  The weather was perfect.  This top is thin enough that I wasn't too hot in the beaming sunshine during the day and although cozy and warm it's perfect for layering under another sweater, which I did with my Wilfred Diderot Sweater (the one that everyone and their mother has because it's so good) while we watched the fireworks later that evening.

vanilla

bag: Free People; shoes: Vans; sunglasses: Prada}

I love wearing white in the fall/winter.  I could have went all white everything with white shoes, but I like the contrast of the tan/brown accessories, it's softer than the typical black/white combo too.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

jumper & denim

bracelets: H&M (old); sunglasses: Prada}

It's been raining here for about 5 days straight, but there was just enough of a break for me to go grocery shopping on the weekend.  I was struggling with what to wear.  It's October and raining so I can wear pants now, right?  Wrong.  I left the house and was sweating instantly (TMI, sorry).  So I switched into this romper, which is super comfortable.  Last time I paired it with a kimono (see here), so this time I threw on this denim vest because it does get cold in the grocery store.

knotted

A cotton candy pit stop.

{top: Anthropologie (bought in-store); Tularosa Nora Shorts in White
shoes: ZARA; hat; bralette (similar): Talula; bag: Urban Outfitters; sunglasses: Prada}

We spent five hours walking around and going on rides at Broadway at the Beach.  Thankfully I wore these shorts because they are SO comfortable.  At first, I wanted to pair this tank with something simpler and more fitted to let the eyelet details of the tank to stand out, but this tank was too long for most of my shorts and I definitely was not going to put on a pair of jeans, which would be my ideal pair of pants for this length of a top (white skinny jeans would look great).  I was thinking of comfort when I put on these shorts because it was so hot, but I love how the details of the shorts peek out from underneath the top.  I thought the details would be overkill, but sometimes when you think something isn't going to work, the only way to know for sure is to try it on and sometimes you'll be surprised.
