crochet blouse

I've been obsessing over crochet this spring, but this Farm Rio Flower Crochet Blouse is SO stunning!  I love all of the beautiful, bright colours!  Of course, I love the puff sleeves.  I paired the pretty blouse with my go-to AGOLDE cutoffs, pink Lack of Color hat and pretty ZARA sandals with pearls, which are now under $30!  I usually don't wear a lot of jewellery, but I've been wearing this Free People Chain Ring Set a lot since I purchased it back in March.  Unfortunately, the colour I'm wearing is sold out, but they have the set available in brass.  I love mixing them up by only wearing a few at a time.

I'm already planning my next outfit with this crochet blouse because I'm that obsessed with it.  Next, I'll be pairing it with these '70's Blue' Free People Loving Good Vibrations Cutoffs, which really bring out the bright blue in the blouse.

This crochet pattern is also available in a mini dress!  Below are other pretty crochet pieces I'm loving this season:

tie dyed knit shorts

When I started shopping for spring, I realized I was in need of shorts.  Something in between my H&M Sweatshorts that I've been living in for the past year (or so) and my denim cutoffs (still trying to fit back into about 90% of them).  As soon as I saw these LoveShackFancy Scalloped Tie-Dyed Shorts, I fell in love.  They come in two other colours, but I was immediately drawn to these bright pink ones.  I love that they're tie-dyed, but what drew me to them (besides the pretty colour) was the scalloped trims.  They just add that special touch.  You can wear them fitted, but I chose to size up for a more relaxed fit (mentally, I'm still in sweatpant-mode).  If they were more budget-friendly, I would be buying all three colours.  They're so comfy and exactly what I was looking for.

I paired the pretty knit shorts with an equally pretty crochet shirt from ZARA.  These knit shorts would really stand out with a simple white tee.  If you love a matching set, there is a matching pullover and a matching track jacket!

Below are some (ok, a lot of) other tie-dyed pieces I'm loving for spring:

friday find: crochet sweater

Happy Friday!  How beautiful is this sweater from Anthropologie?  I recently came across it and purchased it immediately.  I have always gravitated to crochet pieces.  (I remember obsessing over this Spell & The Gypsy Collective Crochet top, but unfortunately it was too cropped for me.)

This sent me down a crochet rabbit hole.

I'm obsessing over this Farm Rio Renata Crochet Mini Dress.  I'm loving this Crystal Crochet Skirtall, this Gift of Crochet Top and these Border Crochet Flare Pants, all available at Free People.  This multicolored, striped Free People crochet sweater, as well as this white crochet sweater, are on sale at ASOS!  This Sea Farrah Crochet Sweater is also on sale (and also comes in pink!).  How cute is this ZARA crochet bag?  I love the ruffles!  Or these bags from Urban Outfitters?  I'm also eyeing this crochet robe.

This Tularosa Ohana Crochet Cardigan is so pretty and perfect for spring.  This Lovers + Friends Flower Power crochet skirt would make a great beach cover up (there's also a matching crop top!).

embroidered midi dress

We went out for pizza and what better dress to wear than a shapeless one?  You can eat all of the pizza and still be comfortable.  I especially love this dress because of the embroidery.  I'm a sucker for anything embroidered.  Free People always delivers in the embroidery department.  I'm eyeing this blouse, which also has puff sleeves (!) and this blue midi dress with contrasting embroidery, which also has puff sleeves (!).  I'm obsessed with this embroidered maxi top, which I'll feature on the blog soon!

Happy shopping!

denim, crochet & fringe

{Free People Easy Breezy Crochet SlipMadewell The Jean Vest in Cora Wash;
Matiko Morgan Fringe Suede Sandals}

It's already the second time I've reached for this Madewell vest (currently 30% off!).  It goes perfectly with a maxi dress.  I've been meaning to pull this slip dress out all summer.  I love the crochet details and would love it in a different colour, but can't quite decide which colour.  I'm thinking black for fall paired with a cozy sweater.  As much as I'm dying to pick up some sweaters right now because I get so excited for fall, Free People has some killer summer items on sale right now.  It feels like it's getting hotter in South Carolina so I'm loving that I can stock up on shorts for practically nothing.  These fringe sandals are also 30% off.  Happy long-weekend shopping!

two tank

{FP One Two Tank; ring: Free People (love these); shorts: One Teaspoon;
bracelet: BCBG; hat: Urban Outfitters; sunglasses: Prada}

You know when you go to check out your Free People shopping cart and then realize you put over $2,000 worth of stuff in your cart?  No?  Just me?  I do it all the time.  Then I remember I'm not rich and check out 3 or 4 items and cry myself to sleep.  I literally did it while I was looking for this tank to link to my blog and I had no intention of shopping (well I do now after I finish up with this post).  My last shopping trip I was specifically looking for a black tank and ended up grabbing a couple.  I love that this one is a two-in-one.  Honestly, I've always hated wearing a bra, but in this South Carolina heat it's painful.  But I find a lot of clothes the past few years have been too sheer so even black tanks are hard to wear without a bra (now I don't think I need to wear a bra but I find I still get looks if I'm not wearing one).  Anyway, not with this one.  And the details are killer, as always with Free People.  Speaking of which, there are a few items calling my name...

spring-ish

{pumps: GUESS; jeans: GAP; sweater: Topshop}

It does not feel like spring.  At all.  We get a nice day here, or there, but for the most part it is still cold.  I've mostly been wearing my wool coat.  I commute in my Vans and I secretly wish I was still wearing my Uggs (no, I will never give up wearing Uggs.  I live in Canada).  But I am tired of wearing winter boots or booties.  My skin is still pale because I have barely seen the sun.  Everyone around me seems miserable and ready for summer.  I decided since the weather was not going to cooperate, I was going to dress for spring anyway and brought out my pink GUESS pumps.  (Baby steps.)  I paired them with this pretty blue Topshop floral sweater.  Later in the afternoon, I was surprised by these beautiful flowers by my hubby to cheer me up.  (When the weather's miserable, I blame him for not wanting to move to California.)  At the end of the day, it felt a little bit like spring-ish.

shake it up

{Free People Shake It Up Pullover Dress; booties: Topshop; necklace: Coach;
sunglasses: MBMJ; bracelets: J.Crew (colours sold out, similar here and here)}

I was going to the Macklemore concert (which was awesome and I highly recommend his album, or going to his show), but beforehand was spending the day shopping.  So I was looking for the perfect outfit to take me from day to night.  This dress was the perfect choice.  It was a little warm during the day, but it being a dress cooled me down and it became cool at night at the concert so I just rolled the sleeves back down and kept warm.  This dress is super comfortable.  I also love how roomy it is, which allowed me to pig out at the restaurant while we waited for the hail storm to end.  (Thankfully, the rain let up and, even though it rained a bit at the concert, it was a great night.)
