fall neutrals

I love wearing neutrals in the fall (see here and here).  It's still warm here but I was itching to start dressing for fall so I paired these white Free People shorts with a knit top and brown boots.  These shorts are super comfortable and now on sale!

neutrals & floral booties

{I Love Mr Mittens The Bomber (sold out, similar here, love this, this and this cardigan);
Anthropologie Tee (love this one, similar here and tank version here);
J Brand High Rise Maria Skinny Jeans;
ASH Heidi Embroidered Booties;
Urban Outfitters Fedora (similar here);

Happy Monday!  We were teased with 80-degree weather recently and I really thought summer was officially here.  But I don't mind the cool days because I get to wear this I Love Mr Mittens bomber cardigan I bought recently, which I thought might have been a silly purchase since I thought it would start getting hot here.  I'm really looking forward to seeing their cotton collection, which is apparently coming soon according to their Instagram account (you can enter your email here for updates).  Previously I paired this bomber cardigan with a black tee and regular blue jeans (and white sneakers), but this time I decided to go all white with a white tee and white jeans since I had summer on my mind.  I finished the outfit off with these ASH embroidered booties, which I bought in the winter, but they're perfect for spring.

cream & white

Isabel Marant Etoile Suede Ankle Boots (sold out at FWRD, avail in black);

It's been gloomy the past several days and breezy yesterday morning so I put on jeans and booties while I still can (sure enough not too long after the sun came out and I was roasting).  I'm sure you can tell I'm a little obsessed with anything off-the-shoulder.  I couldn't resist this top.  It's so pretty.  I love the crochet details.  It's super lightweight and perfect for spring and summer.  I will warn you, it's quite sheer.  I paired it with white jeans since I love a monochrome look.  Black can be quite harsh so I chose to go with brown accessories, especially because I'm obsessed with this bolo necklace.  I love that you can style it in different ways.  Last time on the blog (see post here) I wrapped the necklace once around my neck and tied it into a bow.  This time I wrapped it three times and then just tied it into a knot.  This necklace makes any outfit that much more interesting, but especially looks great with anything off-the-shoulder.  Done and done.

#OOTD

cozy cool

Happy Friday!  This week's #OOTD features a sweater or 'jumper' I've had my eye on, but I couldn't decide which colour I love more so I styled them both.  This burgundy colour is so beautiful (also love this and this sweater).  Since it's cropped and has full sleeves, I went with a pair of straight high-waisted jeans rather than a flare.  They're a bit slouchy, which is perfect for the weekend.  I was going to go with sneakers for a more casual look, but I've been eyeing these amazing Valentino booties (budget-friendly pair here and love these).  Plus they would give a petite girl like me some height so I'm not overwhelmed by the voluminous sweater.  And since Valentine's Day is coming up, I went with some heart-shaped pieces and my go-to Prada sunglasses.

neutral

For the cream version, which is the version I originally fell in love with, I paired it with another pair of high-waisted jeans, but in white because I love wearing bright neutrals for the winter.  The boots are a budget-friendlier version of the Valentino ones (they also come in black).  I went with this beautiful Loeffler Randall bag to keep the look clean and added some delicate Gorjana rings, which is my go-to brand for delicate jewellery.

spring mint

{jeans: GAP (love these 7s); top: Mango (old); sweater: Marciano (old); bracelets: H&M;
boots: Marc by Marc Jacobs (similar); scarf: J.Crew (in-store); hat: Club Monaco; sunglasses: Prada}

Two more weeks until spring and we even get to 'spring forward' with our clocks this weekend, but it sure doesn't feel like spring.  At all.  But I've been reading the March issues of my favourite fashion magazines and all I keep seeing are spring clothes, which is making me a bit depressed.  Instyle had a spread on mint and they suggested pairing it with navy, which is not something I would think of (I'm all about mixing mint with white and other pastels).  So I decided to bring out my mint jeans and love the colour combination so much (I know, the top looks black but I swear it's navy!).  It's now starting to feel a little bit like spring.  (But not really.)

I'm so excited pastels are a huge trend for spring.  The colours are just so pretty!  If I'm not wearing it, I want to be carrying it.  I have a pastel pink bag covered and now I'm on the hunt for the perfect mint bag.  This Loeffler Randall Junior Work Tote is perfection.
