winter white

 Free People Sadie Denim Tunic (available in 4 colours)

Typically when I wear 'winter white', it consists of a white sweater and white jeans, but it was so gorgeous out yesterday, I took advantage and wore this Free People denim tunic.  I love the ruffle details!  This denim tunic is so light and airy, you can't help but twirl around in it!  It's so comfy to wear.  It's perfect for a day at the beach, chilling in your backyard, or running errands.

I have always loved wearing an all-white outfit, especially in the winter.  I love mixing white and cream for a little contrast (i.e., a pair of white jeans, paired with a cream knit sweater).  I love a 'winter white' sweaterdress (this Free People Free Fall Sweater Maxi Dress looks SO cozy!), or a 'winter white' knit skirt (like this Tularosa Cozy Ivy Mini Skirt).  Below are some other 'winter white' pieces I'm loving:

ZARA Premium Marine Straight Jeans (love the floral print!)

If you love fringe as much as I do...

If you love a ruffle as much as I do...

Happy (winter white) shopping!

fringe sweater

Over the holidays, we took a road trip to Ottawa for a day of shopping (well, mostly eating).  I wore this Line & Dot fringe sweater, which I am obsessed with!  As soon as I saw it, I ordered it immediately.  I love a cable knit sweater, especially in white, and the fringe detail makes it so unique and fun.  I wore it with a pair of 7FAM skinny jeans and my go-to UGG boots, which are a must IMO when you live in/visit Canada.  Of course, another must-have for me has always been a toque/beanie.  We went to the mall the first day we arrived in Canada and I headed straight to Aritzia.  They had exactly what I was looking for.  This toque/beanie is super soft and definitely kept me warm(er).  It comes in a variety of colours too!  If I still lived in Canada, I definitely would've picked up a few.

friday find: soft-sleeved sweater

Happy Friday!  Anthropologie is having a 'Happy Harvest Event' where you can save up to 25% off on fall items!  One of the items I've been eyeing from Anthropologie (& is currently sitting in my shopping cart, along with about 25 other things that I'm trying to narrow down) is this beautiful soft-sleeved sweater by Knitted & Knotted.  I'm a sucker for a cozy sweater and you can't get much cozier than a sweater with fuzzy, soft sleeves.  I always look for unique pieces and this sweater not only has different textures, but also has my favourite feature: a statement sleeve.  Plus, it's ivory and I love my 'winter whites' so this sweater checks of another box.  And this sweater is also under $100 (not including the discount)!  So not only does this sweater check off 1 box, but it checks off 5!

Cozy: check.
Ivory: check.
Textures: check.
Statement sleeve. check.
Budget-friendly: check.

I'm also loving this, this and this sweater, all with statement sleeves.

Happy shopping!

#OOTD / winter white

#OOTD / winter white

I'm a day late posting my #OOTD (sorry!).  We loved Greenville so much we stayed longer than we planned.  Today's #OOTD is one of my favourites.  I love an all white outfit for fall/winter.  I'm obsessing over this Madewell Fringe Cardigan Sweater, which sadly sold out in my size as I was browsing (currently 25% off with code THATSALE).  Shopbop is having a 'Buy More, Save More' sale with code GOBIG16, which ends Monday.  I love these J Brand Maria High Rise Legging Jeans.  They're the perfect pair of white jeans for sneakers, booties and over-the-knee boots.  I also love these Rachel Comey Mars Sherpa Booties.  The lining will keep those toes extra toasty.  This Free People Essential Backpack is not on sale, but it's at a great price of $50.  Just add a white tee to this look and your 'winter white' outfit is complete!

Happy shopping!

new year neutrals (& baby pink)

{sweater (in 'Oatmeal'), beanie, rings: Free People; jeans: GAP; coat: Lovers + Friends;

I don't mind the winter when the sun is out (well, I hate it a little less).  Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny winter day and I broke in my new Stuart Weitzman boots.  I am so obsessed that I want to wear them every day.  (I was hoping to wear them on Friday to work but it had just snowed the night before and it was messy in the morning.)  Of course I have been playing dress up all weekend trying to put as many outfits together as possible to go with these boots.  I've never had boots really this colour before so I was a bit nervous but they match everything, even things I didn't think they'd match.  So what's that saying?  The amount you really paid for an item is the price you paid divided by the amount of times you've worn them?  Then by my calculations if I wear these 3x/wk for the next 7 wks then these boots really cost me only $50.  I'm pretty sure after I explain this to my husband he'll agree that I should get these in black too.

winter white & grey

{sweater: ZARA; hat: BCBG; jeans: GAP; sunglasses: Prada;
MICHAEL Michael Kors Salem Bootie (also here in leather only)}

I'm sure I've said this a million times, but I love winter white.  I love summer whites too, but white in the winter just pops.  I bought this BCBG fedora in grey and was wishing it had come in white too (I had ordered a white hat from Free People, but unfortunately it was too big).  But last weekend I went to the mall to get my son a haircut and was not planning on shopping, but walked by BCBG and this hat was in the window and caught my eye.  I love this one because I have a small head and this one fits perfectly.

winter white & camel

boots: Marc by Marc Jacobs (similar herehere and tall version here); sunglasses: Prada}

Well, it's definitely still winter.  We had a glimpse of spring this week (13 degrees!), but it went away quickly.  With a snow storm.  (These pictures were taken before said snow storm.  I've actually been extremely ill all week.)  I've been wanting to do a 'winter white' look all winter.  I love white in the winter.  Unfortunately, my white jeans no longer fit me (I really should stop putting my jeans in the dryer... or stop eating so many bags of chips), so I decided it was time to buy a new pair since spring is just around the corner (although you would never know).  You can never go wrong with GAP 1969 Legging Jeans.  They fit great and the price is great.  I usually pair white with black in the winter because I love the contrast, but I came across an InStyle article on winter white and they suggested pairing it with navy, burgundy or camel.  I'm really glad I splurged on this cashmere Club Monaco hat.  It's a nice change from the black or bright colours I normally wear.

winter white

boots: Marc by Marc Jacobs (tallleather versions); sunglasses: Prada; lips: Smashbox 'Fuchsia Flash'}

I love wearing white in the winter.  It's so fresh against all the black that people wear.  This BCBG cable sweater is beautiful.  I love the peplum details on the side, which makes it so unique.  It also feels Christmas-y and, although I hate this season, I love this time of year.  I do love a good snow day, but when the snow has already fallen and the sun is out.  Even though there is no snow yet, I thought it was time to bring out these super cozy and comfy Marc by Marc Jacobs boots.  I bought them last winter (and lived in them), but there are leather and taller suede versions available now.  (I'm obsessed with the black tall suede ones.)  I added this cute Express rhinestudded beret (had never shopped there before - cute accessories!) and added a pink lip for colour.  I was definitely going for an all-around cozy, winter (even though it's not technically winter) look.
